Whoa. Several things happened in this episode, and I'd like to discuss it.
1. That was ridiculous when Touma spent 2-3 minutes lecturing the two magicians on how to save Index. I was like, wtf? Also, that sword bitch didn't do jack.
2. That beam destroyed an orbital satellite in a flash. That, was fucking powerful. Then it turned red and blasted Innocentius into smithereens. Anyone reminded of Godzilla's atomic breath? Blue then red if you follow the Heisei series.
3. Touma spent, what, a minute and a half just to reach the Index over a 3LDK-sized room? Talk about major exaggeration.
4. He really did lose his memories... ouch. I wonder what lies in store for him since he forgot mostly everything.
5. Deep Blood? Aleister Crowley as the Science superintendent? Vampires? Science vs. magic? That last quarter of the episode made me wonder what else is going on from behind the scenes since I have no clue what they're talking about.
Discuss and contribute.

The series actually continues after the memory loss, despite how that would work as an ending. O_o
Although Index doesn't do much from then... >.>

I entirely agree with Touma's running being exaggerated. I mean, he was running in slow motion, but nothing else was in slow motion. Ah well, we can just shrug it off, claiming that it's "magic".
It was really cute when it turned out that Touma did lose his memories. I love the line "I just didn't think that girl should cry." Memories are lost, but feelings are retained, eh? It makes sense to a point.
So, everything that's happened so far has just been the prologue. Does anyone know how long this anime will be, because I don't think 13 episodes will do it any justice at all.

I think this is one of the episodes that shows how bad of a transition from manga to anime can be. We get lots of lecturing and standing around for like the first half of the episode. Then we get extremely slow running Touma as Innocentius is being reversed engineered.
Also, Touma losing his memories was just pathetic. Out of all the feathers falling, he only gets hit by one (out of the dozens falling) only after the giant death beam stops? What. The. Hell. Then there's the loss of memories, only to find out he still has them, only to find out he was just pretending and really didn't. That just took all the emotions built into that scene and destroyed them with a wrecking ball. Great job. It can now only be further cheapened if Touma really does gain his memories back somehow.

Yeah I thought the running was pretty ridiculous as well. It should have taken about 5 steps to get that far. And I'm sure loli-sensei is ripping PISSED her floor is busted and roof has a an enormous hole in it.
I'll say this though, when Index was in the hospital room talking with Touma, I started to get teary eyed. Index <3's Touma. Then he said he was joking and I thought "that's so Touma! Teehee!" Then we find out he wasn't only joking. Play with my emotions more damnit! Jeez.

I wanted Touma's hand to be jacked up after seeing the blood and bending fingers...but he was perfectly fine...
