In this topic, we rewatch old anime and discuss them.

Huh...I figured I'd see one of these by now.
Anyway, you know how, when you were a kid, you used to love (Insert cartoon/toy/game) and later, when you were older and wiser, you dug it out and tried it again, just to see your new impression?
I figured it would be fun to do that with anime.
I started rewatching Higurashi an hour ago or so, and I was incredibly surprised that knowing what the hell was going on actually made the show suspenseful for me.
I remember, when I first started it, I was a bit creeped out in the first chapter, what with Rena and Mion's deadly candy leading to drugs leading to baseball bat leading to clawing out ones own neck, but the whole "Game over, try again? Y/N" *Y* thing that was going on completely killed the creepy for me, and I started watching it with a perverse interest in who and how was going to die this chapter.
now, though...
Rena. Is. Scary. You. Cannot. Argue. This. Scary.
I also remember noticing the cute-ish things that went on before people started getting killed, but I never paid them much heed. Again, I'm surprised by how much I missed the first time through.
I can't even come up with a clever metaphor for how well the cute funny is balanced with scary bloody gory psychosis.

Hmmm... Yes higurashi good shit... Anime I've rewatched I see that I've picked up a lot more since I've matured... Like Rahxephon, the ending was like a total WTF when I was young and now I've caught everything.
As for Rena being scary, yeah, she is so is Shion. I noticed that the only sane person in that story is Mion...

I'd rewatch it if Geneon didn't stop distro in the US. My 3 dvds of Higurashi looks lonely. They want their brothers and sisters, lol.

I was watching Cowboy Bebop, and I realized, there's no way you can hate this show with a legitimate reason, unless you just do not enjoy being entertained. It had everything, and it didn't follow a strict storyline that wouldn't let you jump right in. You could interject into any episode and follow immediately.

Higurashi was dso enjoyable for me the first time i saw it. Cute "Nipaaa" girls slaughtering eachother. Ahahahahahahaha loled so hard when i watched it.
I rewatched Gundam Wing...I use to like it but now that I saw it again, kinda gay. Now it just looks like a story of these 5 backstreet boy yaoi guys. Pretty homo. Also it wasn't all that exciting anymore, they friggin reused the same animation sequences WAY too much.
I already hated EVA and I watched it again. Now I hate it even more. That was when I noticed the story just sucked period.

currently rewatching Eureka 7.
Eureka 7's like a cup of coffee, the after taste's only ever bitter sweet, after a first timer, the understanding of the general plot does not in any way ruin a second review but instead reinforce the main storyline(the inner struggles of each character and the process of growing up), makin it rather more interesting and clear to me(like a second time of reading a good book).
i never finished higurashi(got lost in some parts), guess i'll have to go watch it anyways.

Currently rewatching Karekano and just tried to watch TTGL
Kare Kano:
reminds me of my old high-school days, I want to go back to those golden ages.
TTGL:
No comment can't describe its awesomeness.
OFF TOPIC:
@mnx: I like your new avatar of Yosuke and Chie from P4 :D

1. It's not relevant to the topic, almost at all. I mean its about a game and not an anime. Great game! but sadly not what this topic is about.
2. It's almost the longest run on ive seen in a long time. not to mention it almost completely incoherent! example "i forgot how great this game is the music"
3. It's not relevant to the topic, almost at all. I thought this to be such an important point that it needed to be stated twice. I can forgive those with bad grammar as not everyone's first language is English, this on the other hand is plain stupid. I hope he learns.
Enough of that now, on to the nostalgia! I actually got started on anime with a cocktail of; slayers from the movie rental store, Gundam Wing on YTV which showed just after my bed time so i caught only the odd awesome episode, and Princess Mononoke which someone brought to my older brothers birthday.
Gundam Wing i have sadly yet to finish even in my second shot through, maybe that says something about the series, maybe not. Princess Mononoke although still an awesome movie has alot less wow than it once did, and there were a few things i would have liked to see more exploration of. Slayers though may have actually gotten a bit better! it was great to begin with but i think i can appreciate
the jokes a tad more now.

Just re-watched Flame of Recca. I was disappointed with it the first time, and now I wonder why I endured it again.
The manga was great, sadly the anime didn't live up to my expectations.
