A very genshiken type question (my favoite manga of all time).
It just seems that I'm not able to read or enjoy the porn manga of shows or series that I haven't actually watched and begun to understand where each charater actually comes from and that I only true get off to those books that express the feelings of the original character.
What I was wondering is does that make more more of a freak or just fit in with the rest of you more?
remember children any response is acceptable, I'm not truely looking for the right answers just answers.

Everybody's different. You just happen to be the type who's more turned on by the story than the visual representation of sex. I don't necessarily need to know the characters to be turned on by them, especially if they're drawn well. Half the time looking at untranslated H-mangas or doujinshi I don't know what's going on, anyway. Doesn't stop me from enjoying them.
When I DO recognize the story / characters I have a problem with hentai where they don't act in a way that's at least believable to their personality (e.g. Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess! acting like a slut, or Haruko from FLCL being quiet and demure). It doesn't turn me on because the character wouldn't act like that and I don't care to try envisioning it unless there's a VEEERY convincing reason behind it.
Everybody's got their own personal quirks. You're no more a freak than I am. You just like what you like.
And, yes, Genshiken rules.
