Cannot help but to feel the Denpa Onna-ish kinda feeling to this series. It's based on a light novel and has a bunch of odd characters with a relatively normal protagonist.
Episode 1:

No, the 1st episode have a ED song, blame it on gg, that actually cut this pre-air episode in half.
Hey thanks for that reply , only then that I realized that the 1st episode is actually about 48 mins

Alright! I'm finally not late for the party! Last time I watched an anime, the final episode came out two days before me even watching the series. [C] should have been 24-26 episodes long dammit! And Akumetsu needs an anime!
But I digress, I do agree this sounds like a modern day Gosick but I won't come in here thinking that because I have not watched Gosick at all. I am acquainted with the first chapter of the manga though.

I guess my impressions from the PV were right. I was beginning to get annoyed at JCstaff for making Yumekui Merry and then Hidan no Aria, both which were kinda "meh," IMO, but this was much better than both of those shows. There really is an odd "Denpa Onna"-feel to the show in the scenes Ayaka are in (Garden club scene, anyone?), but I think that's where the similarities end.
As far as animation quality, it's not super-high-budget-KyoAni-style, but it doesn't look overly cheap either. The weird ambient music suits the show, and the characters aren't all obvious cloned stereotypes of other characters; they have a bit of depth to them. There's minimal fanservice; it's not stupidly overused but it does add some humor to the show.
We could have a winner here if the rest of the series is as good as this first hour-long special episode. (I haven't watched Gosick or DRRR!, so I can't really compare them to KamiMemo)
And Catcher, there's always a KVM switch, or even better: Synergy. :3

Finally got around to watching this and enjoyed ever minute.
The characters are rather interesting and does produce a unique flair to keep you hooked, but I can't say that concretely from just the first episode alone. Art and animation is just like yepperoni said, but I was not expecting to be all that and bag of chips anyway. Not bad though..does the job. Guess I will be sticking with this one steadily throughout the season.
Btw: Did I mention how much I like the music? Getting the OST as soon as it will be released as well as the ED theme.
EDITED: And does Dokupee or whatever supposed to be a parody of Dr. Pepper? Just wondering....

Yes.
Dr. Pepper -> In Japanese DOKUtaa PEppaa.
And Alice is practically a homage of Okabe Rintarou from Steins;Gate, from minute 45 when she calls Narumi her "Assistant".

Oh, lol. Thought so.
However, I would never guessed the second one...but it does make sense.
Thanks for clearing it up.

Are you sure? The original light novels were first released in 2007 if my research is correct and Steins;Gate was originally released in 2009.
Not to start anything but wouldn't that mean that in a way, Okabe Rintarou is a Homage to Alice? Or it could be mere coincidence.
Either way though, I really liked the first episode to this and am looking forward to more.

Gah.
Alice is much too adorable.
I had to stop watching the pre-air three times and go blow people up on XBL just to keep my sanity.
On the other hand, this is definitely a must-watch for the season.

And I'm still waiting to hear

Yeah, I included the thing about the drug in the OP, but it may have went unnoticed...that and different sites like ANN and MAL had different plot synopsis for it at the time. I'll fix it up, since both have it fully fleshed out.

.
Now the question is, is that part from the original Light Novel? we just need confirmation.
Because it's too coincidental.

Google Translating KamiMemo LN summaries brings up "assistant", so yeah. It's not like the concept of having an assistant is unique to Steins;Gate. And I believe Dr. Pepper is also in KamiMemo's LNs.

Well, that confirms it, it's not a homage, but purely coincidental. :D

Wow, again this season is impressing me, or maybe its just that I am not looking up these new series in advance. I just downloaded this since it was new, started watching it, and before I knew it 45 minutes went by, the art, characters, story, flow, all of it kept me watching. I also love that so far this season from what I've watched already, around 90% of the shows have either lolis in them, or loli leading characters.
