Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien: Akane Maniax

Any decent fan of Kimi Ga has certainly watched the following ovas, called Akane Maniax. Tell me what you thought about it.
Personaly: This felt like a punch in the face. How could the creators do such thing to such a story... beats me. (did a research, and the storyboard was written by 2 of the 9 guys who wrote the original anime)

Surprisingly, this thread has yet to receive any response, so I shall start the ball rolling (hopefully).
I have to say Akane Maniax is a lot more light-hearted as compared to its Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien counterpart. Althought there may be some who did not like the change, I personally enjoyed Akane Maniax, most probably due to my favouritism of Akane. After all, there were quite a bit of fanservice scenes featuring her in swimsuits, samba outfit, etc. :D
In addition, it has been said that Akane Maniax was a prequel to Muv-Luv, for those who have heard of the eroge/visual novel.

And it seems that it is more related to Muv-luv than Kimi Ga itself (suposedly, it's a prequel to muv-luv the eroge).
Then I guess I'll take back my opinion from the OP, since it isn't that related with Kimi Ga.
I was just a bit shocked when I thought I would get a hardcore drama OVA of Kimi Ga, and got this instead...

I thought it was hilarious (then again I watched this before watching Kimi Ga). What made it funny was how out of place the male lead seemed to be (He looked like a rejected character design of Domon Kasshu from G Gundam). I wish they continued the story.
