L or Kira

Everyone picks a side when watching Death Note. They either are rooting for Light/Kira to "become the god of his new world", or they are rooting for L to stop him. There is also a possability that the viewer would choose to assume the position of Ryuk, and just not care who wins as long as it's entertaining. I'm curious to see what positions you all were on while you were watching Death Note.

Note: If you sided with Mello of Near, just choose L and specify which one you chose if you chose to post, as all three had the same goal.

I'm siding with L, I stopped watching the anime because I personally thought that Mello and Near weren't as good as L. Meaning it was shit with him.

So I liked the live-action movies better in that aspect.

L is way cooler and better than kira.he won just because he got TWO shinigami sided with him.and L just got a bunch of police and who else,watari?just unfair.

Well, I gotta admit I was going for Kira. I wanted to see Light win. I usually go for the bad guys with good intention.

Kira. I'm a guy with the power to make the world tremble on its knees with my badass notebook of death. I got girls too.

I would go with Kira just because throughout the whole manga I was hoping he would succeed in the end. Even though he is really twisted I really liked Light/Kira.

I like L because he adds humor and acts cute while Light jsut acts like Major Head in Asshole for the whole series.

I think its obvious by now that I'd pick Kira. If I had to choose between L and Light, I would pick L. Light may have created Kira, but he was too human. If you want to be a God, you should act as one. He was too arrogant and drew unnecessary attention to his actions. Its kind of hard to hide that type of mass murder, but certain things like giving in to L's provocations and so readily using his connections to the Japanese police were far too reckless.

Neither (or both depending on the arc). At first, I used to like Light's character a lot. I also never really like L for some reason. On the second arc, I started to hate Light's character and personality so much that I started rooting for Near and Mello. He became nothing more than a madman.

Light was my vote.... I like Ls character but his motive was to capture Light and i simpathised with Lights cause as far as criminal eradication... besides Ls success with that personality of his ticked me off lol :P

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that I'm with L, then Near. (Mello just couldn't think things through as well as either of them) Light WANTED to be a god which was just plain arrogent. Without Rem, Light would never have beaten L, who would have found Light guilty in 13 days anyway.

Light is a cold humorless, arrogent person, while L is more or less the same but just is alot more funny, interesting, intellegent, and likable person. Not to mention L was beating Light at almost every turn, despite almost flawless judgements on Light's part, untill Light lost his memories. The moment he got his memories back, he started making mistakes left and right and contineued doing so untill his end.

If there was a real deathnote its more likly that there would be someone like Light using the deathnote for there own approved choices twards justice... were L is totaly fictional... thats mostly why i like Light more mostly based on beliveable personalities

I was on Light/Kira's side ... until he got that damn God Complex. At that point I could no longer sympathize with him and sided with L.

L was a weird fuck. Nuff' said.

To be honest I kinda did too, although that God Complex showed up very quickly. His ideals weren't that bad at first, but they soared WAY out of proportion WAY too fast.

Oh and @ Anime_Haze,
L is just as believeable as Light is. Niether are perfect and they both have their flaws. I also know a few people who are similar to L (except none are anywhere near as bright :P). The only unbelieveable part about either of them is that they two incredibly intelligent, athletic people, who are the excact opposite of each other.
