manga completed, but not?

So I recently got into manga, and just noticed. Why are some manga completed, but not translated? For example, Kampfer is a manga i was planning to read, and it says it's completed on it's wiki and on the myanimelist website, but on mangafox and other manga reading websites, it's says it's ongoing. Could you explain why?

Completed in japan doesn't mean completed in scan translation wise. Some groups are slow/drop them/never gets translated/it licensed now in the west.

Reminds me of a special one. In the case of MM! The author past away before it was finished but i think the rights still belong to the company/publisher
And as freaky said. The manga itself may be finished in Japan which is why wiki says completed. Bbut the translated version on mangafox is not done, hence incomplete

There's a certain manga series I LOVED for the longest time, Ichigo 100%, but it was only released to the 14th book in English. The whole series is 24(?) books, and it bothers me that Shonen Jump stopped right in the middle.
Even though I could read the rest of the series translated online, as someone who LOVES hard copies, it still saddens me to this day that it will never be complete in English.

Licensing rights, slow progression from scanlators, lack of interest/support and no financial support can all attribute to incomplete manga. Addicted to Curry finished serializing years ago and yet the latest chapter I can find online is 116 which is a long way off from the final chapter (536). The more popular titles such as the shonen stuff almost always see consistent weekly/monthly updates while others like this one are forgotten. It's a crying shame really seeing as how Stan Lee and Hiroyuki Takei are involved in that manga.
