Ah now that you mentioned it, it's really strange that he helped with the Uchiha's slaughter back then... I was forgetting that, but I'm 100% sure he has a Mangekyou, since you need it to use the Tsukuyomi.
The weirdest thing for me is the fact that his wrist "melted" after he suffered injuries from the battle against Yondaime... The only ones that I know that could melt when hit are Kabuto and Orochimaru, but it can't be them, that really makes me confused...
Itachi had a reason to kill the Uchiha but Tobi didn't have a solid reason at all. According to his side of the story:'My clansmen drove me away due to their peaceful intentions with Konoha'. He said this when he was assuming his Madara personality, and how the hell did he know what happened back then? My conclusion is that Tobi is someone that was close to Madara and knew his history like the palm of his hand. Either he's gonna be an original character or he's Izuna (Madara's seemingly dead brother) who survived through unknown methods.
As for his wrist melting off it might have something to do with the Senju cells he stole from the 1st Hokage.
I still have mixed feelings about whether I would like Tobi to be Izuna. On the one hand it's a nice way for people to know more about Madara's brother. On the other it's weird that he ain't dead.
I am also still wondering if Tobi is a "person" in the conventional sense of the word. Is he a clone? Is he maybe a resurrected being like the current opponents? I definitely don't want him to be a completely new character because we have enough unexplained stuff in the story as it is without new story lines.
I wonder if it is possible if Tobi is one of Orochimaru's experiments. I mean that fellow was pretty productive when he was in existence. Maybe he was an experiment trying to combine Uchiha and Senju.
