I've never played the games, but I plan on doing so. Is there any point in me watching the anime? I don't know whether to pick it up or not

I feel like you wouldn't get very much out of this unless you played the game. It's a pretty mediocre anime standing by itself.

There's actually no point for you to watch this anime. The original is the one you need to watch first, Golden literally skips all the story parts of the original for Marie's side story and fun events not told in the original.

It was nice to see all the girls flustered but we musntn't forget who the real heroïne in Golden is.

Though, all of this just makes me want to see who the new characters in Persona 5 are.

Ken might be cool, Fuuko too. Just people who haven't made cameos yet in the series would be nice to see, although they shouldn't do everyone since that just sours the deal.

My brother is telling me this potential rumour now that he heard from another of his online friends who probably got it from 4chan or some shit. Nothing in the spoiler is confirmed, but it makes for an interesting theory either way.

Spoiler:
So someone went into the disc of the console version and took a look at the files. Yu's data was put into this folder called p4hero. Another thing interesting to note was that Sho Minazuki's (the new redhead) files were in a folder called p5hero.

There's also some details about the plot leaked, which basically say that Minazuki's dual arcana is an effect of his DID (dissociative identity disorder, aka split personalities). However, by the time you reach the game's true end, Yu manages to beat Minazuki's head in so hard, he loses both of those personalities and personae, and resets back to an arcana of 0 (that's right, The Fool). Margaret comes up and then states that he'll be the next guest in the Velvet Room and that it'll be up to Yu to guide him.


Don't quote me on any of this though. I can't even Google and find anything close to this.

Arena series is fun, but not really necessary for Persona overarching storyline(if there is one). Mostly just giggling at cameos, so you aren't really missing out on too much but that remains to be seen with Ultimax.
