Purchase of Anime magazines
How often do you buy anime magazines?

Instead of purchasing a figurine when I went shopping last Friday, I ended up purchasing the first issue of G'S Festival Deluxe (even though I can't read Japanese), which cost me at least $70.
As it is the very first issue, I thought that it might be a good addition to my collection. Although the contents of the magazine were a little disappointing, apart from the poster featuring Miyako, Kei and Chihiro in lingerie, the freebies thrown somewhat made up for it.

Cover of the magazine

Box containing the items

Card holder

Mobile Phone Strap

Mousepad with "boobies". I had initally believed it to be an ordinary mousepad until I opened the package. Nearly opened it in front of my family members. *Sweat Drops*
If only they replaced Miyako with more Chihiro...
Which leads me to the following questions: How many of you purchase and collect anime magazines? Are those magazines in english or japanese? Do you believe that such magazines are worth your money?
Other titles of anime magazines include NewType USA, NewType (Japan), Megami (Japan), Animage (Japan), not forgetting those in Japanese characters.

I feel that the anime magazine selection in the United States if pretty weak. Reading about shows that have been out for months or even years can get pretty dull.
But that purchase you made looks pretty awesome, I am starting to enjoy ef.

Anime & manga magazines are basically non-existant in the UK (Except for maybe specialist shops) But, as I live in like the middle of no where, there are none of these shops around.

Hmm, I think the last anime related purchase I made was One Piece: Grand Adventure for the Gamecube about a year ago(maybe less, don't remember). Honestly I don't really buy any anime stuff despite watching it as much as I do(follow two weekly shows, watch random series in spurts when I have free time).

I used to buy anime/manga/game/japanese culture magazine called Rogue.Pretty good stuff and reasonably priced as it was a locally produced one,but as time goes by,new issues of it was hard to find and ultimately I think they went bust or merged with another company.
Although I prefer going to the store, look at the merchandise myself and ask the shopkeeper a dozen question than to read the magazine.
Although the mousepad you got is pretty sweet..
Tell me,is the mousepad soft like the real deal soft or is it filled with air?

I have not felt any breasts, at least not since I was a baby, so I can't tell for sure if the "boobies" on the mousepad feels like the real deal. However, it definitely feels soft and comfortable while "touching" them. :D

I live in the capital, and there are a few stores that sell them, but they are normally far to expensive.
That mouse pad's "boobies" should just feel like jelly, as the contents are normally... hard gel. Unless they've done something special. Definitely worth buying the magazine, if I saw it, cuz I need a new mouse pad anyway.

Actually, I am not using the mousepad. It is still in its plastic wrapping. Firstly, like you have mentioned, I am too embarrassed to use in front of family members and secondly, it was more of a collector's item to me. :P

It's $12 in the US because of the DVD that comes with it but I got one for about $4 in Japan.

I've been waiting for an interesting edition of Protoculture Addicts to come along so I can pick it up. It's like $4 and seems to be incredibly good. The last time i saw it I had seen all the anime it covered so I decided to pass but when it offers some new info then I'm gonna buy it. So basically I'm an "I would buy anime magazines regularly if the one I liked was currently offering new info" person.

Another $80 or so went back to the economy because I bought the latest issue of G's Festival Deluxe. Tamaki was the reason why I purchased it.

Cover of box containing the items included

Magazine

Hug Pillow Case Cover

Cell Phone Cleaner
And the most important item of them all:

A Tamaki Kousaka mousepad!
If you happen to chance on the exact same magazine in your area, do buy it, especially if you are a fan of To Heart 2. :D

I'd buy an anime magazine on occasion. Usually, if I'm at a store like Blockbuster or something. I don't really see the point in buying magazines that much. I keep up with news online and if there are any good pictures I can always find scans. The only good thing about magazines are the extras, like Gambler's oppai mousepad.
I'd like to get that Tamaki one, but I'm more interested in this one:
