So, I finally caught the TTGL dub on Animonday...

Yes, I know there was a topic about the dub. No, I cannot find it. Yes, I'm sorry.

Anyway, so I finally was not watching something else when Animonday came around, and so I sat down to watch Episode 7 in English. These are my impressions:

Whoever it was who said Kamina sounded like a...fag, or twat? Well, whichever, it...fucking...fits. Seriously. What the hell. Of ALL the possible VAs, they couldn't find a man with more testosterone then estrogen in their blood?

Ugh. Simon, at least, has a shota-like voice, and I consent to the usage of "Bro" for Aniki. It doesn't at all convey the relationship Kamina and Simon share, but it at least fits.

Viral isn't that bad, either. In fact, I like his VA the most. Wait...no. second best. Boota's was best.

Though, I noticed some stupid editing. Why edit out the cockblock rock and replace it with a censorblur at the start of the episode, when Viral shouts for everyone to put on some clothes?

And, why recolor the explosion smoke?

Why was Gurren Lagann colored green when dodging explosions?

And, for that note, why are Ganmen pronounced Ganzen? I understand Dai-Ganzan, but why did they refer to Gunmen as Gunzan?

Yes, yes. Nitpicking, I know. But, as a fanboy, I am obligated.

well dude in the first place, why the fuck do you have to watch it? hahaha, I really hate watching dub episode specially english ones. it sucks!

Rurouni Kenshin was a pretty awesome dubbing

And the Naruto was pretty.....good

The gundam series was pretty good too^^

....I guess the other ones sucked... especially One Piece! They changed too much things! Damn you 4kids, DAMN YOOOOUU!!!
After FUNimation took over, it got better^^

I have seen all the TTGL dubs so far and I think the VA is quite acceptable, yet I do agree with Arizth on all the editing they did I honestly thought they were going too cut the part where Yoko's bra came off when they where at the bath house. But, back on the VA Yoko's voice is done by Mischell Ruff the same women that does the english dub of Rukia off of Bleach. I was very pleased with this.

There is no way TTGL's english dub could be as bad as some of the other stuff Bandai and Bang Zoom Entertainment has done.

It's cool if you couldn't find the thread, at least you tried. Unlike most people.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure it was mean who ranted about how awful it was. It blows my mind how they can ruin something as awesome as Tengen Toppa by picking the worst possible person to voice one character. After I watched the first two episodes the first night it aired, I decided that was more than enough and I haven't watched the dub since. So bad.

I'm not minding the dub, moreover I'm more bugged about the fact that I will still cry despite knowing what's going to happen. Just thinking about everything that happens in that show makes me shed a tear.

No man! This is the actual subbed version of FSN. The dubbing is pretty awesome too^^

Besides Animonday where else can you watch dubbed anime? I know there's an anime network WHICH I CAN NOT GET! WAHHHHHHHH (I am sure they have subtitled versions as well or should anyways)
