Summer Wars

If it doesn't get licensed in America, well, I'll just have to import the UK one.

It's an enjoyable family movie, something that the anime industry really needed.
You can pop this into the player and probably the whole family will enjoy it too - it's that good.

It's not really deep, it's all about Japanese family values but unlike Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 it doesn't spoon-feed you this and the characters have enough flavor to them to be likable and believable.

Ok......so I've read through the comments and thought I might be the first one to actually didn't enjoy this movie :(

First of all, still awe at how good the previous movie The Girl who leap through Time is I guess I was just expecting the same from this movie, failed.
This movie starts good, but gets kind of awkward and childish to the end. I think if I would be grading movies The Girl who leap through Time would receive an A, and Summer war a C.

I just finished downloading this. from the comments I had read I won't be dissapointed watching this movie :D

Watched this about 3 days ago and this is the best anime movie ive ever seen... watched in blu-ray on a led samsung 7100 series the video was amazing... 10/10

yep this has to be one of the best anime movies I've ever seen

Same here, I had the 1080P downloaded but I purchased the bluray the day it came out.

Overall a fantastic movie that is just plain fun to watch over and over again. Definitely fell in love with Love Machine, he looks amazing.

Just finished it today. Had tons of fun enjoying this film. So much fun. :D
I'm glad I found some time in my college life to enjoy this 2-hour film, totally worth my time.

Since it is considered an anime film, you could write a review on said title and submit it to one of those anime or manga clubs, provided there are such activities at your college. :)

Just finished the damn anime, and you know what??? It was pretty good movie. The only thing that reminds
me about that " A computer virus that can take over every computer machines. " thing is.... Black Ops 2. Yeah in Black ops 2, a hacker is trying hijack military robots to fight against the U.S and stuff like that. And i was like " I go this strange feeling that Call of Duty is ripping off Summer Wars. " Oh well, over all the movie was fun, the story is pretty " WTF " and " EPIC " at the same time. and also, i learned a lot from this movie :3

It reminded me more of The Digimon movie.

Actually any game would do, but it just so happens that they have a family that is raised with playing Koikoi.

It was a good movie. I wouldn't mind if there was a sequel.

Although I think the film's ending is already quite satisfactory but of course, a sequel and more Natsuki would be nice.

I think the same animators worked on it.

Summer Wars, I still remember. The concept is good, the characters have potential but it felt as if they were trying to cram too many things together into one movie.

The protagonist and the love interest's relatioship / Great Grandma and her foster son's relationship / The virus running rampant in the Virtual World / The relatives and how they helped to counter it ... I think the list goes on. There are too many arcs in the movie to be resolved for it to be truly enjoyable. If they made it more simpler or turned it into a series, I could have digested it better.

Personally, the ending bit feels too cheesy. That scene when suddenly all the relatives come help feels too forced to me.
