SyFy to stop airing all anime starting June 9th?

One of the few channels broadcasting anime here in the US, the SyFy channel, is possibly removing all anime from its broadcast lineup.
ANN tried to contact multiple companies for more information, but so far nobody has responded.

Both the Ani-Monday block on SyFy, and Adult Swim block in Cartoon Network pretty much got me hooked on anime. I remember being introduced to titles like Gurren Lagann, Inuyasha, Now and Then Here and There, Code Geass, Blood+, and a bunch of other anime titles by watching these channels. Adult Swim cut back on their anime block and now only air like 2 shows, and now SyFy is removing anime altogether...

I'm through with TV, who the fuck needs it when you have the internetz? This BY FAR. I could've sworn there was such a channel that did show nothing but anime, but you had to have a certain cable company to access the channel.

Only if you have on demand with a subscription or a cable plan with free VOD.. only on directv/dish crapwork or comcast/cox/cablevision.

Yeah, my parents had it when I was in college. the stuff on demand was rarely updated and almost always dubbed. Website seems a bit better about content... but it's a subscription service for the most part.

While us "hardcore" viewers might continue to watch fansubs and streams, casual TV anime viewers are becoming less.
(Also see the recent death of the manga publisher TokyoPop.)
