Thermae Romae web anime

I couldn't find any other threads on this short show, but it deserves recognition!

Adapted from a manga, this is a short series that pairs the Roman empire's love of baths with modern Japanese traditions surrounding them.

"In 128 AD, Lucius is a bathhouse architect in the Ancient Roman Empire. When he loses his job, a friend takes him to a bath to relax. There, he is transported to a bathhouse present-day Japan." Every ep, he somehow is transported via bath to Japan and learns of their traditions, returning home to apply them to ancient Roman life ;D

Here is the first ep, for a taste.


It is AWESOME, and as an art history major, I can happily tell you historically accurate as well (well, no time travel or appropriation of Japan into Rome, but you get my drift)! It's only a Flash-animated web series, but it's a legit anime. It's also a Japanese TV drama, lawl...

You'll laugh a lot and learn a bit about each culture, too. Each ep is only about 7.5 min cutting out the ED and short opening.

If you've seen it, what'd ya think? :) At only six 7-min. episodes, it's rather short, but a very fun watch.

I like it, it's pretty funny, but I never watched anything beyond episode 2.

Ok, well this is awesome.

A manga magazine that had an article on it came with THIS awesome, and actually legit reproduction, necklace/charm.
Funny thing is, the Romans had (and archeologists have found) tons of these sorts of silly sex talismans! Awesome huh?

I have watched this anime till episode 6 and i can said i am addicted to the show lol especially on how Emperor Hadrian is into BL lol.

I have been keep trying to look for the drama but hell no luck till now T_T

I think the live film isn't out yet: the full trailer only just recently was released.

Ohhhh tx a lot for the full trailer and *facepalm* for myself as i don't noticed that the live action is coming on April lol. No wonder i can't find it anywhere.
