Looks like Toonami is going down once and for all. Well there goes naruto for all of the American viewers.
Edit: Sorry, looks like I failed to completely read the article. Naruto may still continue on Cartoon network, but it won't show next week. Instead Spider Man will take it's place, then Batman the animated series will start on October followed by naruto. Though further listing is not heard of yet. So Naruto might or might not stay, we will have to see tonight.

Too bad for them. They better start viewing online before all of the old episodes are gone.
Edit: Old for people who watch online but new for people who wait for it to air.[/h]

I can't say I'm glad to see it go, but I can't say I'm not.
I mean, Robotech/Sailor Moon/Outlaw Star/Big O/ETC are fond memories, but Kenshin/Tenchi/One Piece/.hack died when they were dubbed and aired.

Yeah, I read about this on 4chan earlier this evening...
Toonami provided me was some wonderful memories, including the shows that got me into anime... So I will shed a tear for its final demise
However, Toonami for me, really died around the point when they got rid of Tom 3... After that, hours got smaller, shows got shitty (thats right narutards) and it basically failed.

you're right thats is about the time that me and my friend started to stop watching it...(and if it wasnt for toonami i would not be a narutard right now or be liking anime cuz it was naruto that threw me over the edge into anime..dbz pushed me to it but naruto did it..)...im not disagreeing with you..

When the new Tom (Ver.PHAIL) took over they showed a past history of all the toms before him.
Im pretty sure it brought a tear to my eye

Toonami died around the time Kenshin was aired. Had Toonami been the same now as it was then, I would have been saddened by this news. And hell, at least it would have probably went out with a bang. Current toonami just suffered a slow, painful death.

Toonami died a very long time ago. A good metaphor for it is a dead horse being dragged behind a truck for the past 4 or 5 years.

But mostly I doubt toonami was getting anywhere anyways. I mean toonami mainly was good back then because we didn't have super kickass internets that allowed us to download subbed anime every week . . . yeah that's right. Internet is what really killed toonami if you think about it. Iz mean why would you want to watch tvz anyways when internetsers had everything far earlierz and betters.

I'm glad Toonami is finally dying, it stopped being good back when I was a sophomore in highschool, nearly five years ago.
Also, Naruto sucks hardcore in english, go download a sub or gtfo.

Like so many people have already said, Toonami "died" years ago. Really, what are they getting rid of now? A couple of stupid robots with annoying voices who say the same three things over the course of two hours, and a few video game reviews that are neither helpful or wanted. Toonami was cool when it was a block of shows with a nice theme opening and closing each show, but it's been nothing but shit for a long time.
All this talk about them dropping Naruto - why would they drop it just because they're dropping the short "Toonami" crap that aired right before the episodes started? They'll keep showing Naruto; they just won't have a stupid voice saying, "We'll be back. [lame joke that isn't even a joke]" every time it goes to commercial.
