Toradora Episode 2

Well, they wasted no time. The anime is, for the most part, already caught up with the manga. This, and a few other reasons, leads me to believe they are going off the light novels.
I enjoyed the episode, but they definitely packed way too much in. I think this one episode had 9 chapters worth of the manga in it. And they skipped a few things I was really looking forward to seeing. One being Ryuuji braiding Taiga's hair while they came up with the basketball plan. Another was Taiga eating Ryuuji's cookies. And one more example was Taiga right before her final kick.
On the upside though, now those of us that haven't read the light novels will be able to see more of the story. And the anime is definitely good and fun to watch. I really like the ED too. :P We''ll just have to wait and see more!

And they really did cram a lof of the manga into this episode. Now hopefully this turns out to be a good thing, meaning from here on it's all new story and content.

Doukan da. I agree with your assessment of the second episode, Mike. For what it was worth though, without reference to the manga/novel, one word sums it all: Wow. In my opinion, another great episode with great moments and great voice-acting and great lines. It was great, and I especially enjoyed the scene where the two main characters were kicking the pole with all their strength and stress behind it... it was touching.
Kitamura-kun and Minorin... fucking blockheads but I love em all the same.

However, if this means we'll get to see the blue-haired girl sooner, I'm all for it because I'm curious about her.

I got pretty bored during this episode. The only thing that stood out was the "pass pass hey pass" scene.

The character designs should have told you that much already. Besides, it wouldn't make sense to make an anime based on something that's based on something else, right?Well I figured that since the manga was so well done, with the amazing facial expressions, that they would have based some of it off it.

I believe the blue-haired girl is that idol they saw at the end of chapter 12. I can't think of her name off the top of my head.

I blinked and somehow the show is caught up with the manga.
I remember waiting for a span of 2 months for all the chapters that were covered in this one episode. At least from here on everything is new to us and we can't bitch about it in comparison to the manga. I kinda like that strategy though, take all the hate that could sprout from previous fans and direct it into one episode. It's a pretty clever directing ploy, although I hope they don't do that to Index.
Good but meh, overall, at least the OP was catchy and the ED was cool.
