Watching Anime as it Airs.

So I started watching H.O.T.D. and Amagami SS at the beginning of this anime season. These are the first 2 anime Ive watched as they air in about 2 years...
And honestly, I don't like it. At all. But now that Ive started them, I might as well finish watching them as fast as I can. Which means watching each episode as it comes out.
What I wanted to know is, do you watch anime as it airs? And, if so, do you find it to be a good experience?

Yes, I watch animes as they air.
No difference with watching a whole series. even the waiting time is the same.
I already tried both, and I don't see any plus value for waiting 13/24 weeks, since it's the same with the between air watchers, heck they're even faster than "whole watchers", since once the final episode is aired "Between watchers" will watch it first, while the "whole watchers" download the Batch.
About the enjoyment, it's the same in the end
"between watchers" will be more "wanting" to watch if the "cliffhanger" is right
Whole watchers won't get that feeling, but they'll only get the "finally I've watched this" feeling.
The appeal for "Between Watchers" IS they're up-to-date, has a fast discussion rate, and will have more time in the end.
Whole watchers, will usually left behind, GET SPOILED A LOT by "between watchers", usually doesn't have a place to discuss since it's cool downed, and they won't have more time, since they're always "backlogging"

So how about those from other countries.
I got 2 main things
1.Unable to understand the language.
2.Waiting for the sub or dub version to be released.
I remember my elementary days when i got hooked to watching Neon Genesis Evangelion every weekdays. After school i went home and open the T.V. and watch every episode shown everyday.

Yeah, HotD is the first series I've watched as it airs since early Bleach. I don't mind the wait, since if anything I go off anime when I watch it in massive blocks, and then don't return to it for months at a time. It's a bit annoying not being able to torrent a whole season, but then I also like blogging and talking to friends about stuff, so being able to do that with brand new content is a godsend.

I guess it depends on the anime.
For example, I watched Initial D long after it was finished. And so I was able to watch several episodes in one sitting, which gave me a huge rush. The same happened for animes like Hajime no Ippo, Claymore and Afro Samurai. And that's definitely something enjoyable.
But there's also something about watching it when it airs that is unlike any feeling. I happened to follow animes like Lovely Complex, Clannad, K-ON and others since the very first episode and it certainly felt good and fresh at the time (and I keep some fond memories of those times). Sure, the wait felt so long at times, but in the end when finally watching the episode it felt so worth it.
In the end, I don't really have a preferred option. But some times I wish I could've seen this or that anime from day one, so I guess this may be the answer.

It depends upon my excitement level whether to watch the anime as it airs or just stack up its episode. My first factor would be of course my excitement like with HoTD I'm really hooked up with it. Next is how many episode would it be. A series with 24 episodes that is aired for once a week would mostly reached 6 months of wait-watch and it will spoil out my interest, and last the source, if i can't find a good source, then patience is a virtue.

Watching an anime weekly gives build up and tension. It usually leaves me more grateful for each individual episode, than if I where to watch it as a 'whole watcher'. You get to question and think about what's happening next, using your imagination for the entire week. Then the next episode comes out and you begin to love it even more. Also, you have time to back track in the episode and replay some favorite parts. It sticks in your head more.
However, I enjoyed Clannad watching it in succession. I guess it's all about how the show grabs your attention. I watch K-ON!! weekly. It's entertaining as a leisure show. I certainly don't wait in complete anticipation for the next show but I do feel happy once it's out.

I'm watching enough series right now that i can generally burn off most of my free time throughout the week just watching those. Still haven't watched the lastest K-On!! or Mitsudomoe yet.

I do a bit of both. I usually watch the anime I most like as it airs. For the others they usually accumulate and I end up doing straight session watching them all.
Personally though, I find watching on air a bit better cos it spaces things out, I don't get tempted into going just that one more episode lol.

Pretty much every anime I watch weekly, and live if I can. Only time I don't watch them like that is when I missed the series completely and then have to marathon it.
