i just watched the new bleach episode 39 on adult swim and i think so far the english cast is good but i got used to jap. which do you guys like better?

to date I have never seen a dub I have prefered over the original cast.
... maybe its just a personal thing I dunno.. then again my only two experiences were with Naruto and One Piece.
Naruto I saw after friends got me watching the anime again ( originally I watched the first 5-6 episodes and swore never to watch it again... ) and all it did was make me giggle.
One Piece.. the voice actors actually sounded ( from what I remember ) somewhat similar to the japanese one which in hind sight is well done. However with that show the taking out of things like blood and the animation changes ( the changing of the white hostage at gun point to a black kid being held hostage by a guy with a giant cartoonish hammer being one of the better known.. ) didn't work for me. However in this case the dub did make me start watching the anime so I have to give it some credit I suppose =)

that is one thing i dread when watching my favorite show that was in first in jap. ver. then later comes out in english with the crapest cast and i agree i am not fond of the naruto eng. cast.

I believe that the original Japanese versions almost always are better than the English dubs, for several reasons: a)the english versions (when not on adultswim) are often edited and important character development / plot is cut out, b)english translated into japanese can sound awkward, and c)many of the names when translated from Japanese to English make no sense.
So, I would much prefer the Japanese version of Bleach to the English version. :!:

I think the English Naruto cast has good voices and potential but the way they dub it is horrible they're better off using the subtitles in the Jap episodes as their scripts... So I prefer the Jap/original cast reading subtitles isn't mind bending.

If Naruto and One Piece are your only experiences then you've only really experienced one real dub and then a joke of a travesty of a butchery. Actual edits aside, the voice is pretty terrible regardless. They all sound like their on crack and Sanji has a Brooklyn accent for some bizarre reason.
And yeah, I prefer subs as well. The Bleach dub doesn't bother me and it's fairly well done.

out of all of the dubbed shows that i have watched that where in jap. bleach has done one of the better jobs at dubbing it in english. everything the characters say dont leave me confused like most shows do which anoys me :evil:

The only complaint I have is that Ichigo occasionally sounds like Joker from Full Metal Jacket. :shock:

Most of the time i will watch the Japanese version, but i'm not too picky when it comes to watching the dub or not. however, if the dub is absolutely horrible, like Naruto, i can't even stand to watch them.
So far the Dub of Bleach has been ok. I have watched most of what can be found in torrents in Japanese, so it's taking a bit to get used to the English voices XD. One thing that really bothers me though, is that Kisuke Urahara is called "Mr. Hat-and-Clogs" <_< that just sounds fucking stupid. sandal-hat was much better and even SOUNDS better. I've yet to see into the Soul Society Arc(watching it on week days), so i can't say much for the other characters -_-
