Wolverine/X-Men Anime

Shingen isn't a mutant, but his son is and will become the Silver Samurai later on. Not sure if he'll be featured in the anime though...


This has all happened in the comic books already, except replace

A.I.M. with one of Shingen's assassins and SCIENCE with poisons and nerve ending attacks.

From what I remember from reading Wolverine comics, this has been pretty close to the original content.
There are differences, like Logan looking like he is a lot taller than he is in the comics, but most of it is just nitpicking. (It even seems a lot more accurate than the American X-men cartoons)

I do think that this will probably be the best one out of Marvels four anime adaptions.

I wished the ending was different than in the comics, but can't help it lol.

i was a bit mad when Mariko died taking an accidental bullet and it cuts off with logan screaming to the heavens, there had better be an OVA or something that can't be the ending.

So, I don't feel like making another topic for the X-Men anime...so let's talk about it in here.

OP:


ED:




So, first episode has aired. Watched the RAW. The character and art design is the best out of the three Marvel anime's.

Story
Spoiler:
Takes place after Jean's death. They're sent to find Armor, who's been kidnapped or something. Looks like Emma Frost will be joining the cast sooner or later.

I'm not sure who the villian is in the OPing though.

I actually liked the design of Storm in this one.

Agreed, Storm looks quite nice. I am bothered that they're using the Cat-Beast in the anime instead of the classic Beast that I grew up with. Also, if there's any sign of Deadpool or any other Weapon X characters, this'll be an insta-watch for me.

Edit: Was that Stryfe I saw at 0:30 in the ED?

Looks like it.

Don't know if he'll appear in the anime though. It's only 12 episodes long.

I haven't gotten around to watching the Wolverine one, but I saw episode 1 of X-men and I liked it so far, I think I can commit to watching the rest, and maybe finding time to watch the Wolverine.

i finally watched the first episode...wolverine completely different from the wolverine the series wolverine. more or less its comic book wolverine instead of anime wolverine, other than that there was really nothing wrong. I look forward to watching this series

I totally agree with you there. I also thought that the first episode was solid and was glad to see the cast's personalities in tact, (and glad to see Wolverine back to his usual self, rather than his own series' appearance. I really enjoyed the bantering back and forth between Cyclops and Wolverine as well; I'm glad that they included that. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the White Queen, Emma Frost.

Getting back on topic, the Wolverine and other Marvel related anime may have slipped the radar of some viewers, perhaps due to a lack of publicity?

It's more of a Denial to acknowledge it. Saying that "This is not Iron-man", "This is not Wolverine", "This is not Marvel".

So, we get that the U-Men are behind the abductions in Japan. So, I guess they're doing this story line, but replacing Tempest with Armor and Emma Frost. Can't wait to see the interactions with Cyke and Emma, especially with her part played in Jean's death. I can't really see CykeXEmma going on in this series though.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing Cyclops and Emma together. I imagine that we'll be seeing some kind of conflict in the next episode, although probably not too much since Wolverine will be there to get shit straightened out. I could see Cyke and Emma getting together at the end, however, but not anytime soon.

As for this episode, I enjoyed all of the action, and was glad that the episode took a serious tone at the end, with the x-men having to kill the experimental mutant. I'm hoping for more moments like this in the future.

I'm watching the X-Men anime, and it almost feels like I'm watching the old X-men animated series again. Except Storm looks more like a tan girl and less like her ethnicity.
