While the Official Suggestion Topic thread lists all seven publishers, I wonder if books from GOT are less likely to be picked up. Most of the books are from recent releases by Wani Magazine. Some others are from Kill Time Communication (noticeably those by Nanase Mizuho and Erect Sawaru) and Bunendo (e.g. Kyockcho, Mizone, syou and Siokonbu), and a few others are from Akaneshinsha (as I found, some classic books from Comic Koh; non from Comic Aoha have been published).

I didn't find any recent books from GOT, especially from artists who published on Comic E×E. What I can find are some earlier works from Comic Anthurium:

Yurikawa's Summer Love Geek Girl
Z-Ton's Does This Strange Body Please You
Itou Eight's Lust Mix

Are GOT's books from Comic E×E not under consideration?

Funnily enough, I did a post about this not too long ago. You can see the full details here: JP Publishers

As you can see in the below image though, Wani dwarfs the other JP publishers by a wide WIDE margin, and I think that's unlikely to change. On average, both KTC and GOT get a book at a rate of less than one a year. Crudely speaking, FAKKU releases around 2 books a month/ 24 a year, with the likelihood of at least 15 coming from Wani's catalogue, and that's a lowball estimate - it's likely more, but I'd need to look at the data to confirm.

Perhaps there are more hurdles involved when trying to publish from GOT and KTC, I remember Brittany did a post a while back explaining some of the logistical hurdles around acquiring a book for publication.

GOT is a tricky situation, GOT is involved with DMM and DMM does not want uncensored books (they're not the only publisher to feel this way), it's why sometimes you see French publishers obtaining rights to GOT books but they're still censored. It doesn't mean we don't continue to make negotiations with them and maintain relationships, but it is the main reason you've seen a slow down on releases through them. While we were able to get a few books, it does make future uncensored books difficult. With that in mind, we are planning on releasing a new Black Tights book through GOT this year as an example of maintaining that relationship and we of course hope things can change in the future.

I hope this explains things a little more clearly

That’s a shame, they have a tonne of great books, which are much more varied than Wani... in my opinion. For as much as I like Wani, there is a certain amount of sameness to its catalogue, which is perhaps not helped by the high recurrence of certain artists who produce a huge quantity of vanilla - which gets kinda boring after a time.

With that in mind, we are planning on releasing a new Black Tights book through GOT this year as an example of maintaining that relationship and we of course hope things can change in the future.

I’ve seen a couple sites that have this on preorder already. It being a non-h artbook makes sense in finding something FAKKU can publish without running into censorship hurdles I suppose, but it isn’t really the same.

Is KTC as difficult to work with as GOT?

KTC is fine, it's just up to the artists discretion so it's on an individual basis, feel free to include requests of this publisher in requests

That’s CoreMagazine though, Maidens of Steel was from them, but I’m certain that was more of a one off. I wouldn’t bet on anything else coming from their catalogue.

Thanks, will do. I already have a number I could roll of off the top of my head!

I've updated the Suggestion Sticky with a more thorough list of publishers and our current licensing status with them.

I'll keep the topic up to date and will edit it if the situation changes with any of our current or future partners.

No publisher dictates who we can or can't work with. Those we don't work with have themselves turned down our offer to collaborate. In the case of Core, they were taken to court over lax censorship less than 10 years ago, which I imagine is a major contributing factor as to why they're hesitant to publish their content uncensored, even if it's done overseas and perfectly legal. Core even has their magazines on Komiflo, which is a platform created by Wani, so there's hardly any bad blood on that side either. In my experience, there's very little animosity between publishers in the Japanese ero manga industry.

I don't want anyone to take that comment and spin it into something else, so I felt the need to clarify the situation in no uncertain terms. We'd love to work with Core and many of the other publishers, but the issue of censorship is typically the big hurdle standing in our way. Until we can reach an agreement that both parties are happy with, their content is unfortunately off the table.

Thanks for clarifying, now i understand the whole picture.

Thanks for clarifying. I had read into the court case a while back and can totally understand the reluctance of Core from allowing their content to be published internationally. What I didn't understand is why the police felt the need to, well police, the obscenity law more vigorously than they had done prior to that. The law itself is exceptionally vague, and doesn't explicitly state what would be consider obscene. It's also an exceptionally stupid law that is only held up due to the legal precedent it's built up over time.

The only way Japan is going to get over this backward law is by rescinding the law, Yamada Taro is currently the only person I know of who is working toward that goal, or for someone to take it to the courts and win.

YQII would you also mind updating the sticky post to include the hyperlinks to sites, I've listed them below if that helps:

Thanks for the clarification! It's unfortunate that GOT is not interested in publishing uncensored content oversea. However, if DMM is involved then their stance is understandable. No wonder Future-Digi Ltd. publishes uncensored books from Hit and Akaneshinsha but only censored ones from GOT. This is pretty sad because GOT has so many nice books.

For me, FAKKU's digital books are very appealing not only because they are uncensored, but also that they are DRM-free with high-quality image files that don't exist from any other sellers. Personally, I am still willing to purchase such digital books even if they lightly censored (with half-transparent black bars). But I can understand that this may be against FAKKU's strategy, making future negotiation more difficult and/or not attractive to others.

I remebered back there were rumors saying that some guardians found their child reading such almost-uncensored mangas and brought the issue to the polices' & the court's attention, which later affected the current censoring attitude and the backing process by Eirin.

Great, so the rest of society had to suffer because some busybody couldn’t control what they child was reading🤦†♂️

Regardless of the country, you’ll always fine asshats who want to act like they are arbiters of what is acceptable. In the UK you had Mary Whitehouse (the crazy old bat didn’t even watch the movies she protested). In the US you had Tipper Gore (who drew sadomasochistic meanings from the lyrics of songs... said more about her than the songs)

We try to be very consistent with our stance with uncensored releases here, we have a few titles with the "whitebar" tag but there's a big difference that I think is hard to educate and inform users on that difference.

Censorship is something as defined as taking an artists artwork and modifying it post production. Whether it be white bars, black bars, semi transparent bars, whiteouts, or mosaics.

Sometimes artists just don't draw in genitalia, in examples like Otaku in 10,000 B.C. and Netoraserare they have the "Whiteout tag" but the artists made the artistic decision not to draw real graphic porn, perhaps to emphasize more on the comedic or dramatic nature of the story they contain, nobody can really say without the artist there to express why, it was their decision. It's insincere for us to call those kind of releases "uncensored" because I think a common idea is that "uncensored" porn equates "fully exposed" but is not the same as a third party covering up artwork.

Is the artist Distance (current series he's promoting is Joshi Luck) https://twitter.com/DISTANCE_ in one of these 'complicated' relationships with FAKKU? He liked a tweet I sent him that requested he bring his stuff to America lol (not that that means much I guess)...I'd love to know if he's at least been approached by FAKKU.

EDIT: He's mentioned on a couple covers that I found in a quick search, but the chapters aren't on FAKKU it seems.

I can only assume it's the forced and incest tags respectively that keep them from showing up if you have controversial content disabled in your settings.
