Comic X-Eros #50 Preview!!!!!

Comic X-Eros has reached its 50th issue, and to say they're ending 2016 with a bang would be an understatement. To put in into perspective, X-Eros is by far our biggest magazine under normal circumstances—24 chapters/530~550 pages on average, compared to 17~23 chapters/320~410 pages in the other three—and the largest one up until now was X-Eros #37 at 600 pages. However, this anniversary issue contains 50 artists and spans 1,000 pages—basically doubling its regular size!

As you can tell from the list below, there are a lot of new artists for you to look forward to (as always, marked with bold). A few of them are making their debut in this issue, but many of them are veteran artists who have had their works published in other magazines or just haven't appeared in X-Eros for a while. This includes our first ever magazine chapter by Hisasi, the author of one of our first books, Porno Switch, who not only did a chapter but also the cover illustration for this month!

Due to its sheer size, this actually costs more than a regular volume in Japan (around a 35% increase), but you get what's basically an entire extra magazine's worth of content for free. We'll start working on this as soon as we get back after New Year's, and over the course of January we'll be gradually increasing the number of chapters we release, hopefully reaching a steady pace of three (or more) chapters per day before long. With the recent addition of Comic Kairakuten BEAST to the FAKKU lineup, and now this beast of an issue that is Comic X-Eros #50, 2017 is shaping up to be an amazing year for all fans of ero manga!

To round this off, I'd like to leave a short comment regarding page numbers.

When a Japanese publisher advertise their magazines to span a certain number of pages, they count every single page in there, including advertisements. These actually take up a decent number of pages—the equivalent of 2~3 chapters—and since we remove all those ads, we naturally end up with fewer pages. This is something we try to take into consideration, for instance with X-Eros #37 that was mentioned above, where we went with "550+" instead of "600" in our release of the cover. However, 950 (or whatever the actual number may be) certainly doesn't have the same impact as 1,000 does, so for this we'll most likely stick with that and say it's 1,000 pages.

If you ever notice a disparity in what is advertised here and in Japan, rest assure that you still get the same content, and you're only missing out on ads.

I feel dead already. But it's a good dead.

I really hope that we have some true yuri with that last one.

That must be a looooot of ads.

Damn it, Shiro, I knew X-Eros 50 would be a boss battle but I didn't think it'd be armed like this! No, I don't have enough blood echoes, my souls are next to zero, I've spilled all my salt, and we're outta Phoenix Downs!

This is the true final boss. Everything this year before this issue was just preparation for this battle.

But in all seriousness, just wow. This is shaping up to be an epic issue in so many ways (so many awesome artists!). I'm psyched we get a new Hisasi chapter and cover, and what's even better is that its got cheerleaders!
