I really, really, really hope that the wait was because this is going to be the First Press Limited Edition.

It will be the standard edition. Unfortunately, all things limited are precisely that: limited. However, but we do have plans for exclusive content in the future.

that's the right attitude, exclusive make things only worse.

"Future"? So is Bosshi's XXX Mix not exclusive? Because dudino is right, exclusive anything beyond a stamp or special cover is awful.

I was thinking about books specifically. We most likely can't do a reprint of a book that was supposed to only be available in limited quantities or booklets that were exclusive to certain retailers, but we could possibly do things like adding extra pages in our releases, but that would have to come later down the road.

How much content will be missing?

Around 40 cover illustrations from older magazines and a four page story at the end.

i dont know how the other guy's see it, but exclusive books make me angry. i could download all the hbooks illegal from the internet, but I want to support you, that you can make more releases and than you came with the exclusive dumb thing. i know you need to make a little bit publicity for you, but this is the wrong way, why dont you make some goodies and merchandise. how in the world, we the international costumers, can get one??? so this is the wrong sales strategy.......

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by exclusive books. I'm talking about things that you would only get through FAKKU, but not if you bought the same title from, for instance, a French publisher which also happens to publish that book. It wouldn't matter if you're an international customer or not, as long as you get the product though us.

I think he means that doing exclusive books (ex: the new Bosshi book) just gets under our skin because we want to buy a physical copy. It upsets the paying customer who can't fork over hundreds of dollars just to fly to some convention, pay lodging and con fees just to possibly get one.

The Bosshi doujinshi is an exception since the artist will be at the convention in person, and probably never would've happened in the first place if that wasn't the case. Since it's unrelated to this book, I suggest taking further discussions regarding that doujinshi to this topic.

I understand the whole limited print of this book at available at the con, it's disappointing not to be able to buy it, but I get it. I just don't know why I can't buy a digital copy of this if it already is fully translated. When is the digital edition going to be released?

The reason we announced this the day before the convention is because we weren't sure if we would even get it in time, but we got the advanced copies at the last moment. AX is pretty huge for us this year, and the majority of our time recently has gone into planning and preparations, so I don't think the digital version has been prepared for release yet.

I would expect pre orders to start sometime after AX, but I don't know when digital/physical copies will be available.

I guess i get that I just feel like those of us who can't go are missing out on a lot. It would be nice if we could get a digital edition at least of some of the content, since to have the print versions made implies there should already be a digital one. I assume you guys will get one made available to us as soon as you can after AX is over, I just hate waiting :P

Sure, there is a "digital" version, but it's not something that can be opened by any image, comic, or PDF viewer, so even if it could be released, you probably wouldn't want it.

I can wait anytime needed as long as I get some Ishikei goodness.

Every other download so far has worked perfectly well, why would you assume this would be different?

They're currently in the form of project files. Those files need to be prepared differently depending on if they're to be used for the digital or the physical release. Right now we don't have the PNGs and PDFs of the book that would be used for the digital release.

TiTiKEi will go on sale for everyone in a couple weeks! Sorry everyone who can't attend Anime Expo has to wait, but it'll be worth it. We will only have advanced copies of the paperback for sale at Anime Expo.

So it will be on sale in a couple of weeks? I hope when we pre-order that it won't take like 4 months to print while the AX people got theirs already... And please when we pre-order and get the digital version lets us get the whole book instead of a chapter a week! Alot of people have been waiting for this book for a while now and won't seem fair to us waiting weekly while the physical is out already.

They're advanced copies, meaning they specifically had these books expedited for Anime Expo/Quality Control. Nobody is trying to cheat you here. FAKKU is trying to make their AX booth worth people's time. If there wasn't anything special to offer, there wouldn't be all that much hype for it. But this probably all means nothing to you if you're not going to be there. Despite that I think you need to understand that this is a big deal for FAKKU. It's a big opportunity to promote the site and the things they love.

Also chapters were never 1 per week. It's always been one per day, then downloads one week after the last one goes up. I don't claim to know that this is FAKKU's intention but doing it this way ensures that:
  • Pre-ordering puts you first in line to read the digital version.

  • Anyone viewing the digital copies by unethical means (pirating) does NOT get access at the same time as paying customers.

I'm not going to lie, this is one of my all time favorites. I was sad seeing it go around the launch of fakku books.
So glad it's going to get its official English release on the website soon :D
