I'm sorry you feel that way, but there are a lot of genres between vanilla like this and dark themed stories such as the ones you mention. We just released Misdirection which only had a single vanilla chapter, so we're scheduling this now to balance that and some of the titles coming out later this summer.


Some variation of the verb torokeru is very common in hentai. Here I felt compelled using "melty" because of the subtitle and the artist name; it was very clear that's what they were going for in the original. We actually have another book in the works where my first instinct was to go with "Melty ..." again for the title, but that book gave us more creative freedom, so we came up with something else for that upcoming release.

To give an idea of how common this really is, here are four more books that all pretty much translate to "Melty" + some variation of woman, with the first one being almost identical to the title of this book: とろける乙女 | とろけるかのじょ… | とろカノ | 溶ける女

I would like to weigh in on this. As a "vanilla" consumer I was shocked by Misdirection, based on the tags. It wasn't until I was able to read the chapters online that I realized this was not a good match for me. Artwork is great, would love to see what Higenamuchi does in the future, but for now, am really happy to see another great looking book I am interested in buying.

I feel like everyone has a spectrum of what they like. Mine is admittedly narrower than others, but if your spectrum is very narrow, any non-specialty publisher just cannot satisfy. Publishers have to consider what will sell and while I may not buy every Fakku book, I am glad that they have books that cover a spectrum of tastes, not just my own. I think the books need to be more detailed on what they contain, so consumers can make an informed choice.

Switch vanilla for oppai and I feel you...

I love these full color releases, considering however many fewer pages per chapter they are to build up into a full book.

With the last update they added Melty Maiden (and Overfiend vol.2) without removing the unannouced entries, so there are still two upcoming annoucements.

If vanilla isn't something you actively seek out, our other full colored book (Non Virgin by Oda Non) is quite different in comparison to this book.

Misdirection by Higenamuchi is a book that contains quite a bit of cheating and only has 1 vanilla chapter in the entire book.
Super Dimensional Love Gun by Shintaro Kago is our first ero guro book release this year.

So yes, over half the books ARE vanilla (which in my opinion is understandable, given vanilla's popularity), but there are 16 which are NOT, so saying there is not enough diversity is a bit off the mark. And even the vanilla itself is somewhat diverse; you got succubi in there, chubby/oppai (not a big fan of that one, but hey, everyone has his preferences), dark-skin... not to mention some of those 'vanilla' books also contain a few stories that are very much on the darker side (looking at you, saitom's Compensative Service).

On Fakku's end I see a great effort to diversify (Metamorphosis and Misdirection being the evidence of that), so honestly speaking, it's your comment that comes out as almost mocking. I understand you like darker content and hopefully you will get more of it soon, but please don't bash vanilla and people who enjoy it.

Also, you have to realize Fakku WILL keep publishing more vanilla; I hope you don't expect them to stop and cater exclusively to your tastes. I myself don't care for dark content, but I don't go around Metamorphosis's topic saying 'this could have been another harem book' (I'm not trying to bash NTR, mind-break or such; I am simply stating that I do not enjoy it). Everyone has his own preferences and we have to learn to live with that; we also have to realize that Fakku just provides supply to a demand – the more people enjoy something, the more likely that group is to get what they want, and vanilla is probably the biggest one out there (some of these books are already on their second edition print, whereas forgive me if I am wrong, but I doubt Metamorphosis or Ima Real hit such big sale amounts). If you want more dark-content books, there has to be sufficient demand for them first (I'm not saying there isn't one, but it in all probability doesn't reach vanilla's scale; I myself would be interested in seeing sales figures for vanilla as opposed to the darker content).



Sorry for the (somewhat) grumpy reply to your comment; I'm just tired today plus I tend to get a bit upset when I see a book I might enjoy reacted to this way.

EDIT: also there are [OKAMA] Hanafuda and [Toshio Maeda] Urotsukidoji : Legend of the Overfiend; these two books seem to be missing from the Books tab (but are included in store); these definitely aren't vanilla

This book cover was being spammed on Twitter few days ago. I think it was by the Toroshio-san themselves, too.

I don't know why I just realized it but it's so damned pretty.

Is the paperback release still scheduled for September? I would like to order this and Misdirection but I'll be away late October/November and won't be available to receive it if it ship too late. If you already started shipping it I would place an order right away.
