UPS is returning my package. How do I fix this?

Hi,
So I was under the impression that when UPS failed to deliver, it would automatically be available for pickup at one of their locations. Apparently this was not the case for my order, and UPS's site states that they are contacting the sender to have it returned. I can't see any way of changing this to notify them that I am willing to pick it up at from this time, and would like to know the best way of handling this.
Sorry for any inconveniences from this.

Are they returning it after trying to deliver it only once? If thats the case thats weird, just call them.

I would call their customer service line at 1 (800) 742-5877. Keep hitting 0 until you get to a person. Provide them with your tracking number and state you wish to pick it up at the facility it's loaded onto a truck from. The only time we ever dealt with this when I was at FedEx and UPS was when the delivery address was invalid, the customer had an invalid phone #, etc..

Thanks, I'll try calling them.
They did try a couple times, but I thought it would be held at their office after they finished trying to deliver, which I have had happen before.

I think UPS will try to deliver it three times and then they will contact the shipper to return it.

Some packages are send after the first to an access point location aka the ups store. If they left you a slip you can change the location or redeliver unless they check the final box then they send it back.
All my ups shipments go thru the post office. Amazon is a cheap stake but here usps lose less shipments and they don't leave them on the street. Unless they put on the label to leave it. I need to rent a po box soon.
