Valentine's day Promotion but Shipping Outrageous :(

why is it that shipping is so freaking expensive??

I'm gonna buy the 3 books that are on sale (renai sample already gotten).

but the shipping alone for 3 books are freaking $59.05!!!

I was living in Malaysia and I understand higher shipping but I am now temporary staying in Ireland but the shipping is still so expensive :(

P.S why is it still so freaking expensive?? i was one of the first to buy renai sample and I thought after some time the shipping should be reduced, but why still as expensive?

Jacob stated on another thread that the shipping costs for international customers will drop in near future

I know he said that, and I'm grateful and I appreciate it.
But it's just a shame for us because we'll be really missing this opportunity.
I like all four titles. If i want to buy them it'll be $39.80, which is awesome.
But the thing is that shipping itself is $61.90, and that's way more than the price of the books alone. So a purchase that should be around $50 is going to cost me $101.70, more than double.

I've been refraining myself from buying Fakku books even though I love most of them and would definitely buy them if it wasn't for those outrageous shipping costs.
I can't wait for this to be finally settled.

And yes, I know I could buy digital version only, but that's not what I want.

I am a supporter for Fakku in licensing things, but the thing is, the shipping is really outrageous...

I saw a lot of new companies that are based in US and paid for royalties and etc,
while their shipping is also expensive (due to small quantity compared to larger more established ones) , but their shipping of things (by weight/size ratio) is no where near as expensive as Fakku....and these are just books (holy books for me xD)...

so....this will be kind of a turn off for a lot of people due to the shipping

I've been a Fakku follower for a lot of time. When this whole Fakku Books thing started I was full of excitement and happiness, because I really wanted to have access to this stuff, even if it's in English and not Spanish (I'm form Spain).
But since the beginning these prices are holding me back. I bought Welcome to Tokoharu Apartments on last year's Valentine's day special offert, because I really wanted to support what I think was an awesome initiative and it helped reduce a little bit the price, but it was still really expensive.
But now, I've lost every benefit from my Fakku Books Founder achievement (can't afford being a subscriber), and still can't afford to buy the stuff.
Even now, waiting for this to be fixed, I don't know if I should buy this four books now with this special offert or wait and buy them when everything is finally settled, because I can't be sure it's gonna be worthwhile.

I still wanna buy from you and support you, I think you are awesome and love the work you are doing, but I just can't.

What is the shipping cost like if you order from Rightstuf or J-List, is it also expensive?

By experience, shipping cost from Jlist are only 10$ less, roughly the cost of the digital.

I went to check on J-list, added Carnal Communication, so the cheapest shipping method available was First-Class Mail International Large Envelope, and for a total of $19.95 purchase, shipping was $20.88, making it a total of $40.83.
It's a bit more expensive than the book.

From Fakku Store it would be $25.50, a total of $45.45.

I tried with 4 books and shipping is almost the same, just a couple $ difference between J-list and Fakku.

Also, Jacob, I'm sorry if my comments could bother or offend you. That's not my intention at all. I know it's easy to complain when you are not the one doing the hard work, and I don't want you to get the wrong message from what I said.
I want you to know I really appreciate what you do, specially that you take time to answer this posts personally, it means a lot to us users.

Thanks for the info, and no worries at all! I want to figure it out. There might be some way we can ship a bulk amount of books to somewhere in EU and route all orders through that shipping facility. So it won't be coming from the United States and would hopefully be less expensive.

Rightstuf is gives free shipping to Canada when you order more than 250 dollars worth of stuff which I do constantly.

Till now I solved the issue by buying the books on amazon and getting some of the digital versions seperately, but after the whole hentai witch hunting started you can forget about that...
But at least Jacob wants to help the international buyers, so my hopes are up!

Some of my FAKKU pre orders are now displaying "delivered"! As their status, idk whether to be worried or not. Sucks Amazon is removing so many books

My orders Body for Play and Kira Kira are still displayed as "Not yet shipped"... I haven´t canceled the books in case that they will deliver them to at least the ones who pre-ordered them before they got removed as they haven´t contacted me on how the books got removed and that they don´t plan to fulfill the order...
Who knows, maybe they will come to their minds next month and start again to sell the books...

Wait, what's this about an Amazon hentai purge? Is there any particular reason Amazon nuked hentai off their site? Tons of it was actually being shipped and sold by Amazon themselves, so wouldn't that have meant it already had approval to be sold through them? So why the purge?

We had a little discussion about it at the thread for Meaty Minxes and Jacob said that some amazon higher-ups told him that they are not comfortable with adult mangas. Sadly we don´t know more about it and how you pointed out already, they sold those books for a long time (and still sell a lot if project h and yaoi) and the whole purge doesn´t make real sense...

I ordered one book with the sale. Shipping to Canada was $18 and change. (I previously checked the shipping charges for two books, and it was $36)

I checked the other stores:

JList will ship a book to Canada for $10.
RightStuf starts at $15 for one; but it's around $20 for two.

I think a volume discount would help (though the ideal would be to find a Canadian store to stock them).

ya, a volume discount for shipping is also quite beneficial for us as well :)

or the store house option (EU, Asia[maybe singapore/hong kong], and etc) so that fakku may expand its coverage for all us fakkubers around the world :)

The asian one would be harder since the only east asian countries that porn is legal are Macau, Hong Kong, Asia Russia and japan and we can't have uncensored porn nor fakku in japan via licensing rules. And i can only guess if the SAR status really let's Macau have the same laws as Hong Kong.

So today I received a mail stating that they will soon deliver my order of "A Body for Play". It really seems that despite the purge they will send the books to everyone who ordered them before they got removed...
