I'd suggest not even changing avatars at all. The delete avatar function doesn't work either, nor does changing the avatar to a .jpeg.Odd. I was able to change it, but it took 24 hours!

On the cropping stage press refresh before you crop. After you crop go to your profile and press refresh again, and the picture should change.

well in simple terms, when you use the built in crop from fakku, it stops the .gif from animating, you'll have to crop the image your self, (useing photo shop, gimp, etc.) and them upload it.
i believe the right size for a avatar on fakku is 160 x 260
