This is just a wild thought but from my knowledge in DDos (which is small). A DDos "attack" is a when you overflow the servers with pageviews. Doesn't that mean, unless they are all assholes and are using adblocks, Jacob gets loadsamoney from the adcompany?

I believe that to be true. Although there are countless ways for a DDos attack to happen. Most commonly is the one pictured below. Compliments of Google Images.
