Rants

Heeey! Wouldn't it be nice to have a board dedicated to all the pissed off people? Where we can rant about how much we hate the world and such?
-I think that's a plendid idea, good sir.
-Why, thank you. I do believe it is.

I honestly like the idea, I mean it'll probably end up in loads of flame wars but it'd be better to have them in a Rant section rather than lets say a Post Your Pictures thread. Instead of spamming a thread with Flames, the mods could just move it into this Rant section.
Obviously that section wouldn't count towards post count. Eh, I like it.

The internet can be a good place to vent one's frustrations. However, I don't really approve of a rant section even though I have seen it on other forums.
First and foremost, there will be members who attempt to attract attention from others by ranting about the smallest and simplest of issues. I wouldn't rule out the emergence of emos, who believe that the whole world sucks and hates them.

To some people [especially those who have to deal with a lot bigger problems] other issues such as [zomg my mom yells at me] might be small but to them it's their biggest problem. In which, ranting about it will help them feel a lot better.
I think it's just better if we have somewhere people could let things off their chest, so they won't have that anger built up. So, instead flaming some innocent person because of it and start a whole flame war in one thread they let all their anger out in one single thread.
A rant section will move all those negative posts into one section, which will make the rest of the forums look better. Plus no one's forcing anyone to read each single post made in the rant section, I do think some rules will have to be made for the Rant section [if it's made] but other than that I think it's a really good idea.

I understand where you are coming from; a simple problem for one may not be a problem at all for another. However, my emphasis is on the "attention-whoring" members, where they start multiple rants just for sake of it.

Then those attention-whores will just get negative-repped and yelled at until finally they leave the forums.
But yeah, I really want this idea to happen even though I might not post much in it.

Then wtf are you doing here? You're a mod for Christ's sake, you have the ability to delete....
Also, make some damn rules for these boards, honestly.

Unfortunately this thread probably won't work. It seems people are too eager to 'flame' or insult someone these days. And so instead of being civilized and taking the argument to a thread for arguing or even better, private messaging one another, we tend to end up arguing all over the place.
And if we aren't arguing we're just having other problems.

Edit: Good Idea though

It's not like that whole section will be rules-free. Just like in the other sections flames aren't tolerated. The only thing is that if people in the Rant thread DO go into an argument as long as it doesn't get too out of hand it should be accepted.
But if someone types a deep rant and someone replies with "LOL YOU SUCK, EMOFAG!!" consequences should be taken against that flamer.

Yeah, I see what you mean and that makes sense. Maybe people can argue correctly sometimes and I guess consequences may and should be taken against those who act too inappropriately.

I agree with you Gambler.
