Rep-log & stuff

I thought i already had created a thread bout this, but i couldn't find.

We seriously need a rep-log, im getting seriously tired of getting neg'd by some faget for no reason without knowing who it is.
I just lost 3 points in the last 10 minutes (and i haven't even written anything during like an hour, so i seriously don't know were that came from)

Also, people with a heavy amount of -rep should not be allowed to give out any reputation until they've reached 0, or higher, again.

What are you worrying about, mister 69-point reputation? Does reps really matter? After all, there isn't any special privilege given out for those with more rep points.

Ultimately, the rep system is there to show the more respected members of the forum, that's all.

The fact that i've lost points isn't the problem here, the problem is that im losing them for no reason, and that i don't like.
If someone wants to neg me for some stupid shit i've said then whatever, that's what it's there for, but clicking away points that people have earned from uploaded stuff/writing something smart/done some good debating without a reason is just sum plain old faggotry.

How can the system show who on this forum that's "respected" if the system is being abused?

Well reputation has been around for over a year now, this topic has come up a few times (logging who gives negative reputation). I assure you that YOU may not know who is giving you negative reputation, but I can easily find out.

That being said, if I think the system is being abused I will take the steps to prevent/fix the problem.

Even I have received quite a bit of negative reputation, it happens to everyone.

Usually i wouldn't care about a neg-rep, but since this site has it's own rep-system where even someone who has -50 has the same power has the one who has +50 a rep-log would come in handy.

If someone doesn't like what's said by someone else and decides to give him a neg-rep then he should just have the balls to stand for it, i dont't see the point inhaving this whole secrecy thing about it.
One shold be able to see the thread and the post in question that was the cause for the negging.
This is standard for pretty much every forum out there with a reuptation-system, and i don't see why FAKKU shouldn't be able to handle it, people here usually stands for what they say and doesn't fuck around.
If it's a bitch for you to implement or something that's another thing.

Look, no need to get offensive here, but the rep system shouldn't matter anyways. The fact that you noticed that your rep dropped 3 points in 10 minutes shows that YOU care more about the rep than anything else. Perhaps people found some of your comments spiteful, I dunno, but who cares anyways?

I do agree that users with negative rep points should not have the privilege to de-rep anyone, but if this was really an issue, then everybody would be complaining and we'd see some action from the admin staff.

But this isn't something that just happened yesterday, it's happened a few times before, and as im used to be able to see were, and why, the rep came from from the other forums im frequenting it's been annoying me for some time now.

The reason i noticed the sudden drop in reputation is that i was answering questions in the game-section some time before the negging and saw someone had rep'd me, so no, the fact that i noticed it doesn't mean shit.

I'll put my real opinion on the reputation out on the floor: I personally think it's useless and the only thing it does is self-gratifying dick stroking, courtesy quote of Waar. Since it's here to stay and most members don't mind it, I too, have grown accustomed to it. When people start complaining about losing rep points, then the only thing I have to say is to watch what you write. Then I can care less.

This isn't about the lost points, as already stated, this is about the the flawed rep-system that can be improved.

Why do you want to know who derepped you? So you can go back and flame and derep them? Sounds like a plan.

You will not find out who derepped you so quit while you're ahead. Instead of blabbing on, how about you make some constructive, helpful posts and get that rep back?

I think we need rep to count for something. Every other forum either has a special area that is only for people with high rep or something else to reward those that have contributed to the site and have accumulated a large amount of rep.

How is saying you want a rep log for the forums so you can derep the people that derepped you constructive? You want a rep log so you can start rep wars.
