[Locked] Reputation

Yes, it should be disabled again. It can be a fun thing but there is to much drama when rep is around.

If you don't care about reputation or dislike the system then simply ignore it. You just did for the past however many weeks.

Yeah, because the forum was entirely free of it when reputation was disabled, right?

"Thank you" points? Lol. Okay, sure, let's all just hold hands and sing Kumbaya while we're at it; because potentially negative feedback is just too real and might actually hurt our wittle feelings.

Here's an idea: accept the system for what it is or ignore it altogether and let the rest of the forum enjoy it.

I could take it or leave it, personally. But most of the reasons I've read for wanting it disabled are selfish, and despite what the majority of you say it pretty much just boils down to: you don't like it, so you want it gone.

Or, try to change it.

That's the thing though. Everyone seems to have a better alternative. But no system is gonna be without its flaws, so people are just picking and choosing according to their own preference.

And if many people agree with the change, our fearless leader may decide to implement it. Selfish or not, if a dickload of people want something, maybe Jacob would entertain the idea.

Either way I don't care what happens to rep. As long as it's still up the way it is now, I'll treat it like a game.

Yeah, because I said I enjoyed it. Might wanna try reading the entire post next time before misinterpreting it completely, champ. I don't give two shits about rep, I'm just tired of hearing "oh no rep is back" every five fucking seconds. The only people I see taking it seriously are the ones boo-hooing over it.

My advice was to ignore it and let the people who do enjoy it go apeshit.

That was more of a general question. I guess I worded the thing all wrong.

Or another of looking at it is people will say whatever nonsense because despite the stupidity of the post - like an asinine youtube video in the SD or Random sections - since they fear no reprocussions until they grow into an infamous troll and people just start flamming them anytime they show their face.

True story - the only time Rep ever really affected me is when I heard all these horrible trollish stories about TMS, but I thought "why does he have a sizeable amount of rep?" So I didn't really buy it that he was all that bad.

Besides that, I think that there is a difference between posting a "thank you" and saying "Thanks, and thanks so much that I'm going to come back to that post later to give you a rep point for your statement, upload, or advice you provided me"

The only reasonable complaint I see is people upset at getting negative rep points for their opinion being strongly disagreed with by another user. Like someone else suggested once, maybe we should only have +reps instead of negative reps. Because the only complaints I ever see are not "you gave him rep for that!?" But instead "Omg I can't believe somebody negative repped him for that!"

Yeah, that sounds like a better idea than the RepSystem.

Ignore it? If really everyone would ignore things he/she doesn't like in the forums the feedback section would be senseless...

And yes maybe some reasons are selfish but what did you expected? If I don't like something I have my own reasons. Since it's the Feedback Section you should post what you dislike (or approve).

This Thread is merely to gather votes and opinions, maybe many people have other reasons and opinions, but one thing is always the same, they dislike the rep system and want a change (Of course only these who voted yes).

Remember folks, Jacob knows best. It is HIS site after all and whether you like it or not, REP is BACK! Woot! Time to derep them bitches to instigate some drama.

Jokes aside, the system is NOT bad in itself. It is in fact us, the users who abuses it, who are. As for the alternative "thank you" system, do we really need to tally every single damn thing? What difference will it really make aside from not getting a minus thank you?

The fact is, we need nothing else but be ourselves and have some bit of fun knowing that this place is crawling with miserable dipshits; making the miserable dipshits that we are far more superior in our own right. For god's sake, there's more to life than a broken system in FAKKU! to worry about! Everyone here should be old enough to be able to tell what actually matters from those of which that do not.

PS: I didn't bother to vote since I really couldn't care less, not to mention that fakku is acting up again (it's already quite a miracle that I still managed to get this post across).

I really don't mind rep being back, even if it gets too much drama or what not. I personally like the forums without the rep (rep-whoring, rep-abusing, repdrama), but if the community wants it back, then so be it. I don't expect myself using the system at all anymore.
