Ok, maybe I missed it somewhere, but where has all the "controversial" manga gone and how do I access tags without needing to type it in?

It's gone until an official localization can be produced. It doesn't seem feasible to me but FAKKU wants to localize everything. As much as I'd love to see that happen, it's just an enormous amount of content and I think the team needs to be much, much bigger to see that all of that through. That said, we are getting new stuff via the simul-published magazines. This is pretty awesome, as you'll get to see the newest stuff from your favorite artists not long after the Japanese release.
Some people believe this is all a negative. I beg to differ. FAKKU's work is produced at a much higher standard than a lot of fan translations. FAKKU works directly with the artists which allows them to produce manga as close to the original content as possible, meaning we're able to get uncensored releases directly from the source material. It's done at a slower pace, but the quality speaks for itself. No crappy scans, no shoddy edits. This is something that wasn't even possible before. And not everyone seems to care about this but paying for our manga directly supports the artists and shows that there's real demand in our audience.

Well that sucks. I had just made an account too. Is there anyway I can see what I had favorited so I can view them on a site that has my tags?
