Hisashiburi!
Do you think FAKKU Japanese lessons are a good idea?

I'm neutral in the question about the japanese "class". It could be quite good, but then again i doubt a bit if it would actually work.
BTW, I've played mirror-moons translation of F/SN, and I just wanted to know that are there really 4 H-scenes in Heaven's feel? I did a simple addition and got it to 2 scenes in Fate and 1 in UBW. If it isn't like that, then i remeber wrong or read your post wrong.
If this post is confusing to read, blame it on my bad english :P.

Meh, I'd rather you work on that story of yours, Raze, it's much better than most of the crap on the internet. Although if you do have the time, patience, resources etc, and you really feel like it, I guess you *could*. But people will probably just start badgering you for more, asking when the next update will be, and so on, so I'd advise against it.
Anyway, if you're looking for more constructive criticism from people outside of Fakku, there's always fictionpress.com to go to. Haven't been there in ages, but it's an alright site.

I find it hilarious that all these people who want to learn japanese have completely ignored the Help and Support for Japanese thread I started. Everyone's acting like this is a completely new idea.
If you want to teach Japanese, don't bother answering questions, you'll never answer them all and it would take away too much of your time on Fakku. Other people could answer all the mindless questions so that you won't need to. Just post up what you used to learn Jap, and those that are motivated will do their best to use the material you introduced. One post isn't going to take you away from Fakku forever.

I think that having even basic Japanese lessons would be really cool. I've watched enough anime to get most of the honorifics but thats about it. Some conversation Japanese would be a boost to my vocabulary. I would be most grateful if you went trough with it.

When I thought this I instantly voted yes, but then I actually thought for a second. I find it now a bad idea. I have so many ways of learning it why make a new one. Go get a one on one teacher or join a class. You'll learn it much faster if you actually have someone teaching you face to face.

While it's not necessary, it still isn't a bad idea. You said you learned Japanese in a year, did you? That's pretty impressive, so obviously you know what you're doing, as opposed to some of the "guide" authors out there.
SupaPenguin's probably right though; a post outlining what you did, and what sort of plan to follow would probably be best. Maybe if you had a lot of free time at some stage you could transcribe those exercises, but if you're as busy as your post makes you out to be, it's probably best to leave that for now.

You mean that one topic that only gave one small tool for learning japanese, a bunch of people bragging about how long it took them to learn it, and that has now degenerated into 2 people talking in jap to each other? Oh yeah, great thread.
I want to post stuff that will actually help you learn japanese so that you don't have to go search through the loads of crap that doesn't help you. It's all well and good to tell everyone to keep up your motivation and make sure you don't try to learn from anime, but It won't actually help you make any progress on speaking/reading jap. If Raze wants to post up material or try to teach those enthusiastic learners, then more power to him. As long as it doesn't take away too much time from his normal Admin stuff.

I think it would be great to learn Japanese, I'm planning on taking classes when I tranfer from my current college to one where I can finish up my bachelors but I alway wanted to get a little bit of a head start. I tried learning on my own but it is extremely difficult without guidance never the less I keep trying. The only thing I could see as a problem is that your gonna need your free time to relax and take breaks and worrying about teaching others Japanese is going to prevent some of that. Whatever you do I think it's just great that you thought about giving us your time and helping us out.

Lessons sound like a good idea, but they'd have to be limited. No one has the time to give free lessons to all of Fakku at once, and in any case doing something like this with the entire userbase of ANY site (even Fakku) would lead to a deluge of stupid questions that'll flood out your PM box and lay siege to your e-mail account in a matter of hours. I'd suggest at first picking out a small and fairly manageable group of people, preferably the quick learners and people who already have a good grasp on language, maybe 20-30 people tops, and giving the lesson to them. That way, you're not overwhelmed with stupid questions and have a relatively light load, especially since you're mostly just giving people work and helping them when they have trouble. Once your first class "graduates", not only are you used to the work and are free to take a new class (if you want to), but your former students now know enough to help out, and suddenly the work's spread among at least a dozen people, so no one, especially not you, is forced to shoulder an unreasonable workload for free.
Besides, the more Japanese I know, the less I'll have to pester you when I think a line looks awful odd.
