I'm just starting to realize how badly thread spam is looked down upon in this forum (I am still new here, you know).

Well the whole idea of "Haha did you expect me to use a really stupid joke here? Well jokes on you :^)" is a stupid joke, so you did and yes.

English is my second language, so I do use google to google words that I'm not aware of. On the contrary, I rarely need to google words to see if I misspell them, since the words I use is fairly basic and easy and everyone knows. Typos are different thing tho.

I grew up in an era where we still use dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedias

I use both Google and books

and OP, in the 7 billion population of people in the world it's kind of foolish to think that you are 'the only one' doing such common even mundane activity...

I try not to. But every once in a while I look at a word (even if it's spelled perfectly) and it just looks retarded.

No, but I have to google my nickname everytime I want to log in cause I don't know how to type the last letter (an alt-code maybe?)

Some times, if I can't remember what word I want to use. or forgot the meaning too. then I use google.

I only use google to look up questions of stupid things we are asking at work. Like can drown from drinking to much water? We look up stupid things to pass the time. Otherwise doesn't most computers have spell check right away? I mean basically you just need to get it close then right click and pick the right spelling...

Why would you waste time looking up the definition of a word in a paper dictionary? You get the current definitions and better results from multiple sources in 1/10th of the time by searching an online database.

After my accident i losed the ability to sound out words and fuzzy recollection of common words. They always look like there no right to me until this day. Like 'recollect'... i see re-collect. I had to carry a thesaurus and a pocket dic for most of my life. The updated dictionary on my phone and computer helps and the speech to text function.
