Yeah about that: I was sexually frustrated for a very long time because I always identified myself as a heterosexual male when I wasn't. My average day was spent mostly through chronic masturbation. So now that I've found my sexual orientation my sex drive immediately plummeted down to a level that fits my lifestyle. Of course I just came to terms with myself last night so I'm still trying to work everything out. I just have to start adapting to this new way of thinking before drawing any specific conclusions in terms of my sex drive. I'll definitely need therapy because of this my uncertainty of being Asexual or Aromantic.


I don't think it works that way, you don't just decide over night of what your orientation is and then your body automatically responds accordingly to it <_<

To elaborate, I mean: I can't be this chronic masturbator that you say you used ton be a couple nights ago looking at heterosexual porn and getting off on it, and then go 'oh, I must be asexual' and then suddenly your libido drops and you just have no interest.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, I felt like I had to deal with a lot of self discovery when it came to religion myself - but orientation wise, I think deciding on your orientation, especially asexuality where you just have no sexual interest whatsoever in either male nor female - is something to really think about for more than a night.

Thank you all for your input. I think sexual orientation depends on a lot of things. The big ones being education, environment and biology. I just see people more as humans than man or female, and I've always felt that way. I was just too quiet and shy to express my opinions openly. So what do people like me do? Turn to the internet where their opinions are always just opinions. Hey, try being a African/Jamaican/American male in a big family with strong opinions towards sex/family. I rest my case...for now.

Speaking of family, I got a funny story. I told my parents I might be an A-sexual and they took me to see a therapist. I've been in a substance abuse clinic for ten whole days. I just got out today. Oh well, free food! Although the furniture was very uncomfortable.

Ehr, no? Aromantic is a asexual subcategory and term that means that you're not only uninterested in sex, but also in romantic relationships. And you can still masturbate if you're asexual; asexual just means that you don't feel any sexual attraction of anyone of either sex. You can even have sex and still be asexual, you just don't feel any attraction to the sex itself.
