Just how exactly does one destroy 300sqft of carpeting. That would take some kind of dedicated effort to succeed.
Therefore I guessed that the carpet was already old when takerial moved in and then landlord decided to use his wallet to pay for new carpeting.

Ha, there wasn't enough water pressure in the apartment for it to flood.
No, it was old, stained carpet that our cats scratched up a little bit.
Which is why I would have been fine with a portion of the deposit, in particular the pet deposit portion of it being taken, but not the full amount. That's just trying to cheat me.
So she wants to get greedy, I'm going to fucking get all of it back and give her a bad name in the town for it.
