I like how dumb creationists try to talk about Evolution when they know nothing about it.Evolution explains the diversity of life. It does not explain how it started or where it came from.
If you want to know how life started, look at the Theory of Abiogenesis, of course, that theory itself is very incomplete. However, it's better to say "I don't know, but we're working to find out" instead of "MAGIC MAN DID IT!"

Just because man can't explain something doesn't mean that it's impossible. And because we don't see physical proof now doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We thought there wasn't life at the ocean floor but then years later we found out there were tons of species we didn't know of down there.

Shes mocking creationists trying to use science to prove scientists wrong, not saying a God doesnt exist. Thats a topic more suited for SD, not IB.
I laugh too. Creationists like these are like 1st graders attempting to outsmart a high schooler in a match of math
Creationists being the first graders and scientists the high school kids.
Besides Shia, I still shouldnt have shown you these vids. Youre taking quotes straight out of them.

Yeah, you could always stick them right to you ass.
Anyways, I've never seen anyone peel the banana from the side this dude did. Talk about weird.

That magic man part at the end threw me off >.>
well, there's no absolute proof that God made these things so yeah, i can see how using science against scientists (and scientologists who, among all the ones i've interacted with, knows nothing about science) wouldn't be a winning battle

God can exist. I mean, why can't he? God said "LET THERE BE LIGHT!" and Big Bang! Why not? Lol. I don't believe in him myself... But a lot of scientists are religious.
I'm a pearlist myself. D= Stolen from the great Thunderf00t. Lol.
But yeah, Namazu explained it for me. xD

You know what I found downright hilarious about that video...
The banana tree is a domesticated plant species! Humans have selectively bred the banana to be the way we like it. Natural wild bananas are much less convenient. They are bulbous and tough. Hard to open, and contain a lot of very big seeds, kind of like pits. You have to go to some effort to enjoy a natural banana the way "god" gave them to us.
Here's a wild banana:

Mmm no the Human and chimps have a 98% rate. Chimps are apes (a part of the African ape species) We didn't evolve from apes, we share a great ancestor with them. We've essentially never left the species, we still are apes.

Hm....so why did the chimps evolve? I thought evolution was supposed to change a species to survive but there are still chimps around....that also brings up why didn't every chimp evolve into humans
(I'm not criticizing or trying to start a fight. I've been trying to get an answer for a year now T_T)

Japanese people have narrow eyes and straight hair but americans don't. They didn't all evolve the same way.
It's almost the same thing. Some chimps evolved into humans, others didn't.

I saw on the National Geographic Channel(I think, either that or the Science channel) that all humans have traits of the African people; and that when we moved to other parts of the world, our looks changed to make it more appealing to us (I never really understood that part that well) so that should mean we evolved into different races after turning into humans.

Hm.....that doesn't fully explain why all of them never evolve or why they evolved in the first place if they were able to survive. The answers probably can't be found but I'm still curious.
EDIT: Sorry about hijacking this thread :X became way too serious for IB

I think it's more like our bodies adapted to change.
Men moves out of the jungle and:
-Men creates clothes -> men loses hair since clothes keep him warm.
-Men needs help reaching tall things -> men stands straight and grows tall (till he creates ladders and no longer has to be taller LOL).
-Some men live in sunny places -> they are born with dark skin to protect from the sun / other don't live in sunny places -> they are born with light skin
And some men/chimps liked the jungle and kept living in the trees -> no need to change.

First of all I'd like to ask you if you watched the video link I posted. I thought it did a pretty good job of clarifying the issue but if not I'll try to explain.

Modern species do not evolve from other modern species. Humans did not evolve from chimps we are related to them. That is why they are still around. We share ancestral roots with the chimps. The modern chimpanzees have been evolving along side humans for the past 7 million years (the estimated date of the shared ancestor, some paleontologists put it around 6 million). Evolution works by separating species. Speciation occurs when two groups can no longer breed with each other due to changes in the DNA. Once they can no longer breed the gene pools can no longer mix and the evolutionary trails grow in different directions. Everything evolves due to competition and selection. The chimps we see now have evolved and are continuing to evolve (macro evolution in the wild happens at ridiculously slow speeds - so slow it can't be seen in our life time. Similar to the land masses moving away from each other. We can detect the changes due to evidence but can't "see" it in action). The goal of the chimps was not to evolve into modern humans. The ancestor we shared with chimpanzees was neither human nor chimp. It was probably closer related to a creature like a lemur but wouldn't be categorized as the same species if it still existed today.

What? I'm confused, are you suggesting that certain races evolved from chimps due to their appearance and others did not? Now I don't think this is a racist post at all but it could probably be seen that way by some people. Either way it's wrong. Humans did not evolve from chimps. That is why there are still chimps, they are on a different evolutionary branch and evolve in a different direction. All humans come from the same roots, all races. We've separated into different races of the same species due to one of the key elements of evolutionary modification. Geographical isolation. The evolution of the races is similar to the evolution of language and culture. Spanish, French, and Italian all came from Roman soldiers posted in isolation. Latin turned into different languages slowly because language changes from generation to generation. Without the influence of other groups they change in different ways from one another until they are not recognizable. The races of humanity have evolved in this way.
We are becoming more globalized now and more connected. To people, cultures, languages, arts and lifestyles. I suspect that as time goes on the human race will become more and more similar to each other rather than growing in opposite directions. We don't live with the same kind of isolation as we did before modern civilization.

So how come something born with a different DNA usually dies a few moments after birth?
