did you notice in alot of Animes they like to suggest a character might be actually homosexual but avoid coming out and saying it, "I'm gay by the way". Also they really like to stereotype them as much as possible, i don't think i've seen one anime where the Gay guy wasn't the comic relief character who liked to wear dresses and talk with a lisp. It might just be my area but all the gay people i've met that live here act the same as straight guys, besides being a bit more buff and fashion savy.
You guys remember Persona 4 and the scenes with Kanji Tatsumi? That shit was really deep, i applaud that game for doing something like that, seriously. I know most Anime is intended to be "haha thats funny" but it'd be nice to see some Animes that actually stared down real world problems for men so it would be more significant to us. I mean there's a few like Rainbow etc. etc. but even those beat around the bush alot.
have you guys seen Now and Then, Here and There., it's about a guy who goes back into this world at war and is kind of dragged onto the battlefield. They had some pretty crazy as shit there, like one of the girls in the show gets brutally raped as a prisoner of war and she appears later in the Anime PREGNANT, that's the kind of stuff that really drives an anime home. you can add as much blood and fight scenes as you want but it won't make an Anime relevant by any means. The main character is pretty awesome also, they make him very real and you could potentially compare him to your everyday guy.

Yeah I did watch now and then, here and there. She managed to escape though using a water bottle XP.
I wouldnt say the main character was that great.I would say the supporting guy,who was the child soldier with the knife who was more better lol.

the girl who got raped. When I first watched it I went like FKKKKKK THATS DISTURBING,cause the soldier just yanked her into the darkness.
The only girl in the anime who's name I could remember was lala-ru I think. She had something to do with water

Ya and she's supposed to be like 12 - 13 or something, she meets the main male lead later on in the Anime and basically shatters his world. He's like saying everything will be fine and shit, she goes on about how the pain she's felt can never be healed and how much of a naive little bitch he is. And yeah Lala-ru controlled water or something like that.

Oh yeah i just remembered, Sara got sucked into that world and got captured because they confused her as Lala-ru. The dark chamber she was put in was a rape chamber and the soldiers pretty much took turns raping her. There was that one scene where she escapes and basically tries to kill her self because she can't take the pain of having been impregnated through rape.

about the gay thing you mentioned, its portrayed as so because unless its an obvious yaoi game, they will continue doing so in a way because they just want to avoid bad publicity and its a convenient avenue for them to add interesting characters that people wont go,hey this is just a random guy who has no plot whatsoever

But even in Yaoi they exaggerate it alot and there's alot of problems that come with being homosexual which they rarely address in Yaoi. I mean it's kind of like comparing a Harem Anime to what polygamy is like in real life, i've met a few and normally they just schedule times with their partner. it leads to alot of turmoil between the women that are involved.

well anime is the perfect world scenario, many factors are disregarded. Most wont care that its disregarded for the sake of entertainment, but for those who demand more, well tough luck.

That discussion above was just TL;DR so I just assumed you were talking about manly stuff, amirite?

Well yeah... Yaoi will always be a fantasy thing for me. Excellent looking bishi boys making tender love. o3o
I'm not disrespectful towards gays though. They have a tough time in society and are really not part of the yaoi world I love.

Lets go ahead and topic change then, Lol. Compare American Comics to Japanese Comics, which shows more overall manly?
It's hard for me to say because i only have a handful of Manga and most of it isn't really intended to be manly, (Comic Party, Saiyuki, Welcome to the NHK... Battle Vixens.... Etc)

Do you have it written on paper, signed in blood?
