You are half right, except Dubstep = Dubstep.Let me rephrase;

Electronic dance music (EDM) is electronic music produced primarily for the purposes of use within a nightclub setting.Main article: List of electronic music genres
Electronic dance music is categorized by music journalists and fans alike as an ever-evolving plethora of named genres, styles and sub-styles. The presence of vocals, live instrumentation vs synthetic instrumentation, and pattern of drum beats help differentiate genres of electronic dance music.
Thus, Dubstep = EMD.
Dubstep is a part of EMD so refering to Skrillex as either Dubstep or EMD is the same thing.
Then you are implying that Nightcore, Hardstyle, and Jumpstyle are all EDM as well?
Anything that is a subgenre of Electro or is in the category Electronic Music, is EDM.
It all boils down to opinions.
Dubstep can be classified as EDM, but most of it wouldn't be. The clue is in the title, really: dance orientated offshoots like drumstep, glitchstep, vocal dubstep, electrostep, moombahcore, electro house, hard dance are EDM. But dubstep was originally either ambient, or industrial, harsh and grimy.
Ultimately the classification is just a load of techno babble for producers; just listen to what you enjoy.

I never really understood what Moombahcore was.

Moombahton is 108bpm, Spanish influenced dance/electro, chilled out but glitchy. Moombahcore just takes that and adds typical dubstep elements - vocal samples, a more pronounced drop, more sub bass, wubwub.

To be honest most moombahcore isn't that good. They had a chance to make something really interesting of it, but it mostly fails to be as distinct as the genre it borrows from. This is what it should be like:

It has a fucking clip of someone talking about centipedes attacking a tarantula. How the fuck is that not cool? Also it's the people from Pendulum, so auto-win.
Though this is the best, before brostep.

Was unimpressed.
3 Inches is superior.

I'm done with you.
Calling a band like 3IOB a metalcore band. Sorry artcell but I'm a little disappointed in you.
I wouldn't call that full on heavy metal, that's for sure.
Also, ARTCELL (this is what I consider heavy metal)!
Alright yeah this one is good. The last one was just... I can't put my finger on precisely what was wrong, but it felt like they were trying to mash together metal with something else that was more flowing and dreamy that I would imagine playing in the background of an LSD trip. The two just didn't work well together.
Though why do you think 3IOB is metalcore? To me they always sounded like a power metal band.

I'm not sure if I genuinely like dubstep or if it's just the refreshing feeling of listening to music not being performed by some prima donna with average talent and decent looks.
This overly heavy metal music does nothing for me either. Musicians who don't know how to turn off distortion or take the volume off of 11 are just compensating for a lack of songwriting ability.
Why couldn't it be the 60's/70's forever?
