Anybody here ever use a Shinai? They won't break bones but they hurt like a bitch if you get hit on bare skin. I've sparred with my buddy quite a few times using shinais and the last time I got hit on my fingers and they got pretty bruised and sore but my friend got the worst of it since I bruised up his forearms which was the most open place to hit when I was facing him.
