I don't see how that has anything to do with christians teaching of wanting people to be married before having sex.

The way I see it, in a perfect world, people would not have to feel ashamed of their bodies or the very natural physical aspects of love. And for a long time (and in some places still) people felt that way, until some religions screwed things up.



Ah, but they are not saying you should be married before having sex. They are saying you should best not have sex at all, and that is the problem.

sex is in no way wrong or immoral but most Christians say it is. That belief has seeped into the foundations of the US and its what started all these people on their sex hating paths

uhhh... no thats not how Christianity works. The whole covering from head to toe thing takes place in a region of the world where Islam is the prevailing religion. That has zero to do with Christianity

I'm not really saying anyone should be held accountable, it's been centuries since the truly dark times and they have changed for the better as well. But it is still a fact the current western morality is deeply anchored in Christian views where anything pleasurable was and to some extent still is seen as sinful and therefore as something one should be ashamed of.

What you don't seem to understand is that even if these people aren't practicing Christian religion, the values and beliefs of Christianity have been so ingrained in American culture for hundreds of years that people just see this as the way things should be.

While they may denounce the idea of god and related beliefs, it does not change the fact that they still subscribe to the same ethical values as the rest of the western world, ones that have been based on the values of Christianity for centuries.
