warranty won't cover a crack screen form dropping it, unless shane took out extra protection that will cover the phone breaking from accidents.

you may be able to get it cheaper but the s6 is fairly new but being a last year model, it will come down to how much the part cost.
does the touch still work as i had phone that i dropped but the screen was fine but the touch didn't work

when touch screen phone came out the screen was made of 2 parts, the display and the touch part (digitizer)

but on new phones to make the phone slimmer they found a away to join the display and digitizer into 1 unit so when the screen breaks the whole things needs changing meaning the parts will cost more

It's only light cracks in the bottom right corner so I hope I can stil use it.

if it works, then i would buy a screen protector so the crack shouldn't get any bigger.
dont bother with the glass protector as these are tempted glass, which the phone screen is made of, any phone dropped will crack depending on how it fell and how it landed, the only/best way to protect it is to buy a shockproof case for it.

i would say to hold off as the 2016 is almost over and samsung will announce their new phone in february.
so the s7 should drop in price. and when we hit 2017 this years phone should also drop in price as they will be last year phones.

What about an iPhone?
