That's one theory. Another that I heard yesterday at home was simply that no matter what kind of song they have, Russia has a lot of neighbors.

That proves my thoughts on how biased the voting is. Despite their £building bridges" nonsense. The UK gets no votes because most countries hate us.

Why would they hate you?

The UK isn't known for a lot of "neighbours". At least, from what I hear.
I don't know why exactly. It's just the way it's always been. We send so much aid to the rest of the world but when we're in trouble, nope.

You did have quite nice songs the last couple of years, yeah... And I still say Blue should have won.

Blue is a very cringe worthy group here though.

I dunno why someone who's currently in our top 10 chart can't do it.

They don't want to, most likely. Most big stars don't seem to like Eurovision much.

Eurovision really doesn't seem to have the best reputation these days.

Maybe because of the biased voting?

So they think, at least. Of course, it's not going to get any better if they stay away in fear, either. I'm sure a big name like that would get enough votes from everywhere, provided the song is worth it. Hell, I may not like the result, but Sweden clearly got quite high votes from the countries they normally consider to be voting mainly for their neighbors as well.

Their attitude stinks, it's like they're saying "I'm too big for some puny event like Eurovision".

They're afraid of failing, that's all. As long as they don't enter a competition, they can look at all their sales and fans and feel good, but they're afraid of what people could say if they don't place high enough.

I didn't think people cared enough about Eurovision to effect artist sales.

Another reason they don't care for it either way. Still, it's not necessarily about affecting sales, just the reputation of having failed.

I tend to like a song and not give anything about the person singing it.
