Ra's was sacrifice three monsters, it's attack and defense(I think defense too) are equal to the sum of the three monsters put together. If it's summoned from the graveyard it goes back at the end phase and it can either reduce your own life points to 1 and its attack becomes the difference or destroy and remove from play one monster on the field.

The destroy one monster was pretty much the equivalent of phoenix mode in the anime. I always found slifer to be the most useful.
