that silly online MMO game that thinks its final fantasy I am offended by this statement. And also want to ask, what makes you say that it "thinks" its final fantasy?
Wouldn't be the first time I offend you with a statement xD
Mr too high and mighty to put in the time for his shipgirls xD
what makes "me" say it, is that "I" and I am sure millions of others have always seen Final Fantasy as a single player game with a great story to tell a beginning, middle and ending. By adding in the MMO gameplay system, you create a game that never ends essentially. You can try to sell me on story arcs and patches that add this and that etc, but its still a game that doesn't end. This is even without adding in the MMO aspects.
My opinion, no point trying to change my mind.
FF14 is one of the most played mmorpgs in the world, probably in the top 5. Trying to say that most people think the FF series should only be a offline single player game is completely inaccurate. Being a mmorpg has not made the series sacrifice storyline. I have played probably every mmorpg you can name and FF14 without a doubt has story telling far better then all but maybe one. (that one being the old republic and I only say that beacuse TOR has a dialog system with choices that change events, and your character actually has a voice.)

TOR had like 3 good storys in it and all of them were Dark side, so no it didnt have a better Story then FFXIV, if anything has a better story then FFXIV it's fucking WoW tbh.
When you look at it WoW still has the best story of any MMO and the lore for the game is amazing. ESO has better lore then FFXIV, but not a better story. You need to stop using numbers to justify your reason. FFXIV as a lot and I mean a LOT of shit wrong with it, but it's because yoshi p had to remake the game from the ground up using the shit game the was FFXIV 1.0 but do you know why it's one of the most played MMOs in the world? It's because it's easy to get into vs shit like WoW, TOR and ESO.

Everyone has/does play Tic-Tac-Toe and so based of that logic, its way better that FF14 cuz everyone and their moms play it. Semantics. Anyways...

AS SOMEONE THAT AS WHY TOO MUCH TIME INTO THIS GAME

Everything you say has a good point. FF games are a single player games 90% of the time, with a few one that have Co-op in them I.E FFCC
That's the point I am making, most people see FF as this.

When did I say the story sucks in FF14, never. I said that FF games prior had a beginning, middle and end. Something FF14 lacks.

but I'll say this the story of FFXIV is really good if you want to put up with a on-going story that you get bits of every 3 months, and it's a hell of a lot better then the shit story that was FFXV tbh.I feel the same way about ESO as you do FFXIV.
Yeah 15 failed horribly story wise and about 80% of FF13 IMO also.
But that "On-going" is my point.
It really boils down to being an MMO, that takes the FF mythos.
MY OPINION, I just can't call FF14 or any other MMO game that calls itself a FF-game, an actual FF game.

You clearly don't have the time and patience to put into your waifus
You must have a lot going on in your life if you don't have 20-30 minutes to grind in a mobile game...

I do actually agree that a lot of the light side stories weren't that good in comparison to the dark side stories. But even those stories are much better then the majority of mmorpg storylines. WoW is... well, I suppose I can't say much about recent storylines in WoW. But from what I remember way back the questing in WoW felt horribly bland and didn't catch my attention at all.
I would say that FF14 has the least amount of "shit wrong with it" out of any mmorpg today. And A Realm Reborn isn't built ontop of 1.0 its a completely seperate game.

When remaking a game with a 12 month time limit like they were given you have to start off what you have. They ended up keeping 1.x going as long as they could as they work on 2.x and working off of what they had. Yes, 2x is a "new game" but it's a not, a lot and I mean a LOT of the 1.0 shit still shows. The only reason you can't play the 1.0 story now is cuz they to shoot it in the damn head to make room for 2.x
Hell 2.x was gonna be the expansion for it, but they used it to remake the game to see if they could save it.

Can only agree with Echo on TOR being the best MMO storywise, although that should be obvious for a BioWare game anyway. Also the only one that has ever managed to keep me interested for more than a week. Ah, and it's Empire, not Dark Side, Tsamarin. The best and most personal story in the game is definitely the Inquisitor's, and that works much better if you play mostly Light Side. Still, the only story I'd really rate lower than the others would be the Smuggler, who spends chapter 1 and 2 essentially just as a side character in someone else's story. Same complaint also applies to Knight chapter 2, but mercifully that doesn't last long and the rest of the Knight story makes up for it.
