In a hidden land there was a kingdom called Good Taste

where different foods showed their Flavors to his Royal Grace.

But King Tongue one day announced that he craved something to savor

A rich and meaty taste, he wanted those with umami flavor.


Champion Meats were called to action to show their burly stuff

working with the Simple Seasons, they thought that was enough.

“I’ll simply grill myself,” declared the great and beefy Steak

“Do a duo with Squire Salt, the win I’ll surely take.”


“Wait a bit!” cried prideful Pork as he joined the fun.

“You talk like this , but the contest is already done.

My work with Gallant Garlic is already beyond compare

I doubt you can beat my Flavor, just so you’re aware.”


So while the Meats argued whose Flavor was best.

Triffling Tofu watched longingly, separate from the rest.

“I want to show my Flavor too, though I don’t know how,

I don’t have the texture of pig, or the richness of cow.”


But then came the Spice Sprites, to cheer Tofu up

“They’ve got it wrong you see? Don’t listen to these schmucks.”

They brought him many spices from across the land.

Promising that together their flavor will be far from bland.


And so came the fateful day where King Tongue called them in

Each Meat flaunted fancy flavors, but never found a win.

“All your Tastes are nice and all, but none I seem to favor.”

Then Tofu came in quietly and asked, “Would you try our Flavor?”


Upon one taste King Tongue felt his tastebuds pop.

“Have I found a Flavor like this? Surely I think not!”

And so Tofu and his new friends had set a new tone.

That the greatest flavors are not made alone.
