Fakku sub team is recruiting

Hello everyone. Sindalf here from the fakku sub team looking for some new recruits.

The fakku sub team has been pretty dead lately due to the staff being busy with life and "Other projects". (This is not my fault >.>) Because Raze and Bob64 no longer have any spare time, be it because of school or other commitments in life, I am the only remaining member of the group. I would like to bring this group back from the dead.

With Raze gone, for now, and me in charge we will be shooting for bigger and better things. The hentai fansub mafia. This means WE WILL SUB FUCKING EVERYTHING! This is a daunting task and we will require some more staff to pull it off. I would also like this group to take requests every so often, but that depends on the staff.


We are currently recruiting the following positions. All staff will be given a test. Are you a bad enough dude to pass the fakku sub test? Fansubbing bros will be exempt from the test.

Requirements:

Japanese to English translator - In order to translate you should be fluent in both languages or near fluent.

Timer - Understanding lead in and lead out. Know how to snap to scene changes. Don't suck.

Typesetting - Make every sign look as if it was not added by the fansubbers. We will not accept "Hey look at me" typesetters. Signs must blend. We do not care if you cover the Japanese up or just write typeset near the sign. Typesetter is also required to make the episode font. Everything must be softsubbed.

Encoder - Unlike previous releases we will be doing h264 in mkv containers. We will still release xvid. I would like us to start using iso instead of terrible upscale raws as our source. We currently have no one for this position. The test for this position will not be handled by the fakku sub team but by another group.

Raw provider - We need people who can track down iso and those who has the ability to download from Share, Winny, or Perfect Dark. Requires a server or a reasonably fast internet.

DVD buyer - Pretty much the same as above but you buy the dvd yourself and upload it for us.


Jobs we are not looking for

Translation checker - This is just another word for "Your translator sucks"

Editor - See above

Quality Checker - Any available staff will fill this position and http://www.ggkthx.org/2009/10/25/qc-has-been-dissolved-as-a-position/

Karaoke - No, We do not support being a weeaboo.

Anything that requires hardsub - No

Distro - This will be handled by other fansub groups. We may need seedboxes in the future.

Was wondering why i haven't seen fakkusubs in awhile. Nice to see you are tring to get a team up and running again. Anychance you could do lustful laughting nurse episode 2 are your new groups first project once you find people? Fakkusubs did episode one but never got to episode 2.

No one ever said I wasn't willing to make exceptions for people who I know are good. A fun fact is that most editors suck balls and rather just get a translator who can do that job. I really do prefer getting a translator doing the editing at least for something like this so that we may keep the meaning of the line.

If I had a nickel for every time I have seen an editor change something and then it lost its original meaning...

Good luck on this, and well done on using h264 and not bothering with subtitling the lyrics to some inevitably shitty Japanese song.

We will be translating the songs and may do Japanese lyrics (depends on what the team things) but we will not ktime them to sing. They cover the screen and are pretty much a waste of time. Ktiming takes about as long as subbing an entire episode in most cases.

Nice to hear something from Fakkusubs again!

Too bad my Japanese isn't really up to par when it comes to purely spoken dialogue... translating doujinshi and manga is way easier, so kudos to anybody who's a translator in a subbing group.

Hope you find your new team members soon enough!

Where do I say anything? It would also be pretty useless for me to do that as I am already in two other anime fansub groups.

Great, I don't have the time, the education, or the money for any of the positions mentioned! Otherwise, I would have applied...

There are actually alot of translators out there but not many that are good. It really sucks.
