Fakku subs is recruiting!

Sup world, it's Sindalf the leader of the fakku video translation team and once again we are looking for Japanese to English translators in order to get some content out in a timely manor. We have been in hibernation for the past few months due to life and wish to make our grand return in mid May. There isn't much to say about translating in particular. People like to make fansubbing complicated when its easy to simplify it as "just do it".

This is the current test. Put the translation in a text document and toss it to me via PM or IRC (irc.rizon.net). I would much prefer IRC however. The sooner the better. I'll get back to you when someone grades it. We do pay our translators 20usd per release since people can't seem to be motivated otherwise. We are not looking for anything else unless you are somehow the richest man on earth and can provide us with DVD/BD iso. Why Japan charges so much for porn will forever be a mystery.

ok now for bitching, moaning, complaining, and blogging. You can't have a post by me without pointless blogging.

So I'm sure some of you are thinking "Hey weren't you looking for translators before you went into hibernation?" Yes we were and I gave the test out to about ten different people but here is the fun part. Not a single person returned the test. What bugs me even more so is that some people talked with me and said it would be done by xxxx date and then I never heard from them again. It just urks me when someone says they are going to do something and then doesn't do it. Yes the test is stupid hard and there is a good chance no one can complete it perfectly. That isn't the point. I cared more about someone attempting it and give it a good try and hoping that it came out not too bad. I cared about effort, which many people in the current fansubbing community lack. I guess that's pretty hard to expect from people. As for the current/ex/whatever staff I have been busy with School but should have a lot of time free up during the Summer. Wintereise was very busy with University but should be able to come back although he doesn't know if he is willing to. I have not heard a word out of fnord in like months even though he is on irc. Vale is too busy translating anime and trying not to be a bum. Fakku has not had an original translator, someone who is brand new to the fansubbing scene, since ACF which was back in 2010. Always had to rely upon those who came in through anime fansubbing through money incentives. It's not something I like doing since I feel the community really needs some new blood. I still think ACF is still one of the best translators I have ever worked with. Man went from being one of the worst, almost had to v5 one of his scripts, to one of the most creative and clean translators ever. And I feel that is because he made a conscious effort to better himself. Definitely in my top 3 and I will miss him.

Well that's enough of my ranting. Had to get that off my chest. Point is that we need some new translators so I hope someone in the community steps up. We can't have nice things in life otherwise. I look forward to hearing from you!

I would totally volunteer if I could read/speak Japanese. I'm just now starting to learn the language. Best of luck in your search though. :)

I wonder if I should give it a go. Still learning but it would help me in the process too.

Edit: looking at the test, that guy in the glasses... it's hard to hear what he's saying with a voice like that.

I'm a big fan of the stuff that's been translated so far, but unfortunately I lack the required training to read moon runes. Hopefully you fill your ranks soon and can get back to more great work.

Many other translators have commented on that as well. Like I said, its more about putting in the effort while being mostly right I guess. Obviously hentai and the tests content are on completely different levels.

This also helps separate the serious people from the "I watched anime for four years, please let me translate! I just can't read it or speak it." You would be amazed how many of those I get.

That guy with the buck teeth has the most bloody annoying voice I have ever heard.

On a more related note, after leaving my last group due to lack of time I'm not even going to bother translating the test. Good luck on your search.

Eh.... well, I'll give it a shot. I can't promise I'll be here always since I have work. I'll download the video and get to translating. Should be done in 2 days or so if I'm not busy.

Surprised ACF was that poor back then. I guess that's when he was only beginning to translate for things non-school related, but he's been quite busy with hentai translations ever since. Maybe Fakku should also look into text translators for those not competent enough for video yet. Just do some quick and easy doujinshi to get things started.

Tempting... If only RL didn't keep me this busy...

His scripts were often a bit derpy english wise. Best to say it was worded strangely and not very flowing. That changed rather quickly by his like 4th or 5th script.

As far as doujins go I really am not interested in doing so mainly because I personally have no skills in that area. Someone else can handle that and I don't think anyone wants to.

Would be awsome if there were others like english to spanish!! Id volunter
