Well, the only reason we got out of the Great Depression before WWII was because we entered WWII....

Probably
Considering the New Deal didn't exactly help all that much
But WWII also brough about big as debt
I mean, a couple billion to 250 billion?
War is expensive stuff
Plus, WWII wasn't an economic war
It was normal, good old weapons war

Oh yeah, I know.
Every war after WWII has been an economical war:
Vietnam
Korea (which is still going on)
Persian Gulf
Nicaragua
Sudan
Afghanistan
etcetra.

I'm assuming you mean the trade of weapons for very low prices to these countries and the CIA intervention in places like Guatemala and Congo
but really, Vietnam wasn't an economic war in the sense that economy wasn't really used as a weapon, the PAVN and Viet Cong just wanted to turn public opinion. Which it did, stupid American public strikes again.
I dont think Korean war was an economic war because it was pretty traditional. Except if you consider that Truman had an excuse for his NSC-68 plan

We have been in every war BECAUSE of the economy. When it would hit a sour note, the damn Republicans declared war, saying it was in the interest of Democracy. The only major one we got involved with with DIRECT influence in our economy is the Persian Gulf War, which was to protect our oil rights in Saudi Arabia.

LOLOL
Your a radical one huh?
I'm more conservative
So I strongly disagree with that, in some cases we had very good reasons to invade, in others not so good
But in case was it because of the economy, or for monetary reasons. Rather, we lost money, for example, in the Hellenic civil war, or to Turkey
Chile held no money for us to get
Neither did Congo, Guatemala,Haiti, or Lebanon
The Persian gulf war was because of Hussein's idiotic invasion of Kuwait, more than anything else. Unlike the current war, Hussein's invasion was widely condemned by the world
If you ask me, more than the wars, which show no evidence for monetary reasons, we should be looking more closely into the American government, like the bastard Dick Cheney and his ties to Halliburton

I might be labeled as a radical, or even an extremist, but I'm a firm believer in George Washington's original policies for this country. "Don't get involved in foreign affairs". Every time we get involved, it makes us look bad. America has gotten too big for it's britches and now would be the time to step back and just worry about ourselves. But even if we did step back, that would still make us look bad. See the position America is in because we got involved in foreign affairs? We can't do one thing without someone hating us and cussing our name, like Al-Qaeda, Iran, N. Korea, most African nations, etcetra.

Hmm, I would disagree with you
America's intervention into WWI and WWII were pivotal in changing the course of the world, towards teh better. I think we can all agree Hitler and his Aryan ideas were pretty crazy
America has not always been looked bad
The Korean war, for one, is generally not considered a mistake
Neither is the Persian war
What really makes people hate us is the invasions of the CIA, installing people like Papa doc Duvalier, or Pol Pot
Al-Qaeda is a terrorist organization that kills people around the world, from the Philippines to Spain
Iranians are crazy people with nuclear power. Well, at least the government was
North Korea is insane. Well, the government. The people there cuss us because they believe Kim Jong Il is a god. For goodness sake, they have a flower called Kimjongilia, and they call him Great Leader.
Only a select few African nations hate us, we only intervened in 4-5 african nations.

Hmm....
I can understand your point of view and respect it, but I will stand for what I believe in. I will end it, because we could argue all night, and get no where fast, other than eventually hating each other.
...
On a different time scale, today's events are just sad. If people are so sick of having Obama as a president, and were sick of a Republican as a president, then why don't they vote for someone else? Even state wise, everyone is getting fed up with those in offices....

People view intervention in foreign affairs as bad, and thats understandable because there were undeniably errors, such as in Grenada and in Dominican Republic
Well, Obama is a democrat, Republicans all suck (I mean, Mitt Romney adn Rick Perry? CMON. Fail anyone?)
Tea Party sucks
honestly, there are no good presidents
The public grows impatient with the ones holding office, but they remain as blatantly ignorant as ever(as you can see, i have a very low view of the public)
All we need to do is cut Defense budget, which accounts to more than our discretionary spending and in addition is the second largest thing government money is spent on, some 20% of the GDP. And we need to cut off some of the Medicare and Social Security. Bring Back Estate Taxes and raise taxes. Reagonomics and the methods of John Meynard Keyes shouldnt hold power in this era. Reagan was just a dumbass, And Keyes was a good policy for the Depression era, but now its just bringing America into a Depression
Plus, cutting isnt as easy as you think
Look at what happened right before the violation of the Constituion happened and we defaulted our debts. WE waited till the LAST FREAKING MINUTE, and then finally the damn purist Republicans gave in. Even if Obama and Boehner manage to cut a deal, people like Mitch Mcconell and Eric Cantor just keep roaring in anger and causing major budget cuts to get stalled and invariably evicted.

Exactly. I hold a very low view of the public at large as well. I think that there should be an even tax rate, about 10-15 percent of what you make annually, no matter how much you make. I also have some very extremist views on corporations, like limiting how much money they can actually make and such stuff. And yes, the Medicare and Social Security are draining the funds of America faster than the Defense Budget, in my opinion, and I think there NEEDS to be more funding for schools. Hell, I go to a public university and my flipping tuition is almost as much as a private university. And the only reason why nothing gets done, is because the damn Congress is majority Republican, and the President is Democratic.

Actually, the Senate is Democratic, and the house is Republican
But well, there are still enough republicans and democrats to pull the plugs on each other. Both sides have isolated themselves, and America of today has become the most partisan government we;ve ever had. Instead of limiting how much corporations make, it would be better to tax rich for more, that would create more revenue while meanwhile ensuring that corporations have enough to handle any task or problem at hand. Medicare and Social Security combined are draining more than Defense budget
Medicare is i believe around 15% whereas SS is larger than Defense i think
But that doesnt mean that we need to spend so much. We spend more on our defense budget than the next top 21 nations combined.
We could save hundreds of billions by cutting our defense budget. In addition, if OBama hadn't retardly proposed that Medicare plan, we would have saved hundreds of billions more again. And we definitely need to cut SS
Its not really the Republicans fault, but they aren't blame free either. Its both parties, they're both unwilling to compromise at all, and thats causing a shitload of problems.
Yeah, a lot more need to go towards education. Education is but a tiny fraction of the discretionary spending, a mere few percent. Well, if we cut more from the above, we could have more for discretionary spending while at the same time cutting our debt

I hug that statement. XD
