That's what was intended in that sentence, but it being vague resulted in its ambiguous meaning.

I meant it's an impossible task to dissuade you of my idiocy because I was, as you proved, an idiot for not even seeing the situation as it actually was. The rep was given because I laughed, but I didn't think it was "clever", hence why I made that reply. Now it's obvious that both the laugh and rep were pointless.

Owning up to your mistake is a good start. Loads better than those who stubbornly cling to their beliefs despite being logically shown that they are wrong.

If people are serious (as serious as a band of internet hooligans can be, in any case) about this wiki, there oughter be a system in place where only a select few- deemed by others to actually be some amounts of fair and objective- could edit it and make entries.

Elsewise you just get clusterfucks like whatever the hell's been going on in this thread- with more butthurt and faggotry within than a prison.

There's an argument and dissonance here relating to the purpose of a wiki and how Wikia provides services, but long answer short is that we can't and shouldn't limit access right off the bat.

It's essentially the same sort of double-edged sword that democracy wields: Give the people the power- but what good is it if they're a buncha morons who only do what they're friends do, or don't even bother?

Not proposing tyrannical rule over nations, but for a wiki dedicated to Fakku- it may have some merit.

I thought wikis could limit editor access, to some degree.

Or maybe set up a sorta third-party filter (dunno how easy it is to program such a thing) that would limit it so that people would at least have to be an Elder- someone who has been around for awhile- to even have the option to edit stuff.

The thing is that it requires a wide range of people, each with insight into the history of Fakku and its users, to function. A handful of people have put together good articles, but it's not really an issue of time, rather that they don't know other users well enough. That's a pretty difficult barrier to break, unless people's information and ideas can be sensibly collated.
