I've always thought NGE is a bad anime. I can see why some people love it, especially if it is the or one of the first serious animes they ever seen. However, it created the whole "Moe" thing where a character doesn't have to have any substance if she is cute enough.
For that I hate NGE and any other form of Evangelion. It just isn't good imo - and that isn't even considering the fandom that surrounds it.

I actually enjoyed the manga a whole lot more than the anime because the manga does a lot better characterization.

Add to the fact that they keep pumping out newer versions makes me facepalm. As if we haven't had enough NGE.
